Hello again Burwood Residents,
Over the last week or so we had some great discussions around specific ideas to ensure
residents are comfortable living here and have little to no impact from the new building
works that have started.
Based on feedback provided thus far by you, this is the current action we have taken:
Secured a study space (in the E buildings) away from Resi buildings as an addition
option for resi students to use for your group/ individual study
Mirrors to be installed on site entry fencing to aid traffic/ pedestrian safety by weeks
end
Construction works days that have no activity are currently: 2, 3, 4, 5 and 19th October
2015.
An updated program of works schedule for your information has been requested from
the builder and should be provided within 10 working days
Any day where normal building operations are significantly disrupted (such as last
Friday) we will offer a free meal
The builder has been reminded by the University of specific EPA and council
regulations of start and stop work times and acceptable work noise levels
If you are a person who is sensitive to sounds and/or are affected by the current
construction site operation start time of 7am and you need some extra sleeping hours,
pop into reception to pick up some free ear plugs as you need
Please ensure you contact your RL with any questions or concerns you may have so they
can collate and bring to weekly RL meetings so we can together come up with specific
actions as needed.
To get you as excited, as we are, about the new student accommodation buildings, please
see over the page, pictures from the architects’ finalised design. As you can see, it’s a
wonderful opportunity for the University to provide an amazing on campus student
experience you are having, to more students.
Again, if you observe a specific issue regarding any safety/ security with our current
buildings or the new build work site, please do contact reception immediately so we can
take action.
Best regards,
John
