2. Count how many bugs you found on nature walk (look around

outdoors and search for bugs). 3. Build an insect using shapes.Parts of an insect must include;

(Head, thorax abdomen, 6 legs, 2 eyes, 2 antennae Materials: paper shapes (you may substitute with stickers, glue, cardboard or other materials you have available at home. See photo below.

4. Sing the song “The Ants go Marching One-by one”

5. Draw 2 insects (ladybug and an ant), remember that all insects have 6 feet. Write the number on each foot while counting. At the end say the total of feet altogether.

Writing

1. Draw and write the names of the following insects: bee, dragonfly, fireflies, ladybug and a termites. You can check online about them.

2. Write the following sentences: - I see a______ - I see a_____ - I see a_____

Use the pictures to write the name of the insects (dragonfly, bee and firefly).

3. Have your student write the sentence: My favorite insect is______. Help them to write the name of their favorite insect.

4. Using different color paper or any kind of paper create a caterpillar as long as your name is and write it on it. You can add your last name if you want to.

5. Draw an ant and label the body parts.

5. Make a bug habitat (bug hotel). Use an empty water bottle, milk jug, or any clear empty container to make a bug habitat. First cut the lid or side off the container and lay it on it’s side. Second, go outside and look for places in nature where . you would find bugs. Third take things that will fit in your container and place them inside. Take things like leaves, dirt, pieces of bark, or sticks, pine needles and pine cones, flowers, grass and left over scraps of fruits and vegetables) and place them inside the container. Finally, place your container and check daily to see if any bugs move inside.

5. Crea el habitat de un insecto (Un hotel de insectos). Usa una botella vacía de agua o de leche, o cualquier contenedor claro vacío para hacer el hábitat de un insecto. Primero, corta el lado de la tapa o un lado del contenedor. Segundo, ve afuera y busca por lugares de la naturaleza donde puedas encontrar insectos. Tercero, toma cosas como ramas, hojas, piezas de corteza de madera, piñas de pinos, flores, pasto, cáscaras de frutas o verduras y colócalas dentro del contenedor. Finalmente, busca un lugar para tu contenedor y checalo a diario para ver si algunos insectos han venido a vivir en el.
