Executive Sales Manager HAMANN AG
Biography Dipl.-Ing Uwe Fredrich, Executive Sales Manager at HAMANN AG in Hollenstedt / Germany. Age 44 Education: University of Applied Science in Hamburg. 10 years in Consilium technical department as draftsman, service engineer and project engineer. 13 years in HAMANN AG, project engineer, technical director and now in sales. Description From 1rst of January 2010 the new IMO regulation MEPC 159 (55) is in force. This regulation is defining treatment of sewage on board of ships. The presentation will give an overview about the different waste steams on board, what is black water, grey water, hospital, galley waste and how to handle. What exactly contains sewage and what is the negative impact on the environment. Other regulations beside the IMO like USCG, Great Lakes, Alaska will be explained as well as the different available systems and philosophies on the market. Does is make sense to reuse the treated water on board? Furthermore the consequences for the designers and shipyards will be evaluated, in particular tank arrangement, black water tanks, grey water transfer, sludge tanks and side effects. Especially the sludge handling is an important part. How to define the correct size of a treatment system and possible future regulation is also part of the presentation.
