Dear System 1 User, In the November issue of System 1® Tips and Tricks we’ll show you how to set up spectral bands in System 1. Spectral bands are used to configure software alarms to help you detect specific problems or malfunctions. We hope you enjoy this issue. How to set up spectral bands in System 1
1 1. Open the System 1 configuration software and connect to the Enterprise. 2. Select the point you want to set the spectral bands for. You can select the point from the Enterprise view or from the Hierarchy. 3. Right click on the point and select “Properties”.
2 1. Select the “Variables” tab. 2. Select “Spectral Bands ” at the bottom of the page
3 Enable the band you want to configure (1-16), give it a name, select the type, set the bandwidth, center frequency, units, enable alarming, set the setpoint and finally the severity for the alarm. Click “OK” and save the Enterprise.
4 If you want to adjust the band frequencies or display scales (plot scales), you can select one of the buttons highlighted in green to make these changes.

5 Viewing the bands on a spectrum Plot: 1. Open System 1 Display
and connect to the enterprise.
2. Open the spectrum plot for the point you configured (right click on the point → Plots → Spectrum).
3. Right click on the plot and select “Configure”.
6 Select the “View” tab and Check the “Show Spectral Band Setpoints”. Click “OK” or “Apply”.
7 The two spectral bands we created are now shown on the spectrum plot (Sorry second one is a bit hard to see)
8 The spectral bands can be adjusted by right clicking on the plot and selecting the “Adjust Spectral Bands” option
9 Select the Band you want to reconfigure (in this case Pump Cavitation or Bearing Frequency), using the pulld down box. Enter the new Bandwidth, Center Frequency and Setpoint and click “Apply”

The next window pops up, showing the changes you made and the associated point in the hierarchy. Click “Save” to save the changes.

The adjusted Spectral band is now shown on the spectrum plot.
