SWACHHTA PAKHWADA

The NSS unit of AVIT has observed the Swachhta Pakhwada week from 1/8/2018 –

15/8/2018 as per the information received from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports

Government of India. Under Swachhta Pakhwada, a pledge was administered by

Prof.Rajasekaran, Vice Principal (Admin) at AVIT auditorium for creating awareness

towards importance of cleanliness at the workplace to the Student and staff on

02.08.2018.The pledge was also take in every class rooms, nearly 550 students have taken the

pledge.

CLASSROOM CLEANING ON 2/8/18

Classrooms are to be cleaned first to ensure a fresh atmosphere for the students and

faculty. A clean classroom is one of the first steps to stop the spread of germs and pathogens

in the College Campus. It is the most challenging, frequent and time consuming tasks that the

academic custodians face today. But when it comes to creating a healthy learning

environment, it's also one of the most important, considering the amount of time that students

and teachers spend together in a classroom on any given day. Since everything needed to be

started at home,the Clean up drive started by cleaning their own classrooms.

VILLAGE CLEAN UP

The AVIT NSS along with Unnnat Bharat Abhiyaan team organized village clean up in the

adopted five villages. NSS Volunteers being ambassadors of ‘Clean India’ were engaged in

cleaning the ponds, temple, main road, bus stand, hospital and streets,

Student volunteers along with NSS Coordinators Dr B.Prabasheela and Mr. K.

Surendrababu, UBA staff incharge of Alathur village Ms.B.Janani and participated in Pond

and temple cleaning at Alathur village on 3/8/18.The ponds were found filthy and floating

dead fishes. The team removed all the dirt and also informed about the oil spillage to the

BDO of that village.

2. MAIN ROAD AND HOSPITAL CLEANING AT KOTHIMANGALAM

Common area like Water tank, main road and government hospital cleaning were carried

out under the guidance of Dr.L. Rajesh Kumar UBA faculty incharge of Kothimangalam village

and Mr.K.Surendrababu, NSS program of AVIT at Kothimangalam village on 9/8/2018. The

cleanup accessories were facilitated by Rotary club of Thirukalukundram.

3. POND AND VILLAGE CLEANING AT SIRUDAVOOR ON 10/8/18

Pond and village cleaning was carriedout at sirudavoor on 10/8/18 by UBA team

(Dr.B.Prabasheela-UBA/NSS Coordinator, Dr.Vijayan and Mr.Muthuselvan – UBA Faculty

incharge for Sirudavoor village and Student volunteers) accompanied by Mr.Pavithran, from

Environmentalist foundation of India (EFI) addressed the volunteers about the importance of

collective responsibility in achieving common goals of community service.

4. ARUNKUNDRAM AND NADUVAKKARAI VILLAGE CLEANING

Arunkundram and Naduvakkarai village cleaning was carried out on 13/8/2018 in

the presence of Mr. Fedal Castro and Mr. N.P.Gopinath, UBA Faculty in-charge of

Arunkundram , Mr. R. Karthikeyan, UBA faculty in-charge of Naduvakkarai along with

student Volunteers. The Volunteers involved in Cleaning of roadsides and gutter.

CAMPUS CLEANING

On 14th August 2018, the NSS volunteer has done campus cleaning from 9.00 to

12.30 pm. They have cleaned the main building area, Staff room,play ground,library

building area,temple, parking area etc
