New EHFA Policyfor Training Providers Accreditation

• European Quality Assurance Reference Framework (EQAVET) to promote and monitor continuous improvement of national systems of Vocational Education and Training (VET).

• Member States encouraged to use the framework, and develop, by mid-2011, a national approach to improving quality assurance systems

• EU Commission’s emphasis on national solutions to promote improving standards in VET.



• Following the recommendations from the EU Commission, EHFA Standards Council has approved a new policy for the accreditation of Training Providers for VET, accordingly to the indications from EHFA Board established in the last EBM at Brussels (22nd of June 2010).

• EHFA Accreditation focused to help support Training Providers in their own countries to achieve national standards of quality assurance, but in addition to also demonstrate compliance with the delivery of EHFA’s learning outcomes from its standards.



• To align with EQAVET development, and as a result of the review of the accreditation process, EHFA accreditation is evolving.

• SPECIAL THANKS to the EA Fitness Project (great experience and very successful network of training companies delivering EHFA Standards).

• ... It would not have happened without the support of the EA project.

• EHFA will be contacting each of these EA Project partners to explain in more detail what the changes are and what can be expected for on going accreditation.



2 stages in the new EHFA Policy:

1. To be nationally accredited/licensed through the national system (an important principle of the implementation of the EQF and EQAVENT, but also for subsidiarity).

2. EHFA to prepare a system for verification of delivery of the learning outcomes (job purpose driven Standards).


EHFA SC Working Group for Training Providers

• Main role “to provide advice and guidance to the Standards Council regarding the Standards to be developed and the issues that could be affecting to the area of VET at the Health & Fitness Industry in the next future”.

Core issues for initial agenda of the WG:• Credibility and external recognition of Fitness VET.• Promotion of EREPs as Pan-European platform for

exercise professionals.• Implementation of Life Long Learning, based on job

purpose driven Standards.• Others


EHFA SC Working Group for Training Providers

Formal invitation to create the WG of VETTerms of Reference for WG established and approved by SCGeneral Criteria:• Recognition as Training Provider for VET.• Membership of EHFA.• Application Form.• Statement about background, interests and potential

dedication.
