WEEKLY NOTICES AND REMINDERS

KOTUKU SENIOR ELECTIVES We are looking for parents, family or community members who could help out with managing or supervising a group of students each Friday. Do you have a special skill or passion, with a couple of hours spare on a Friday morning? We need to hear from you! Art, crafts, woodwork, fixing, making, cooking and creating - all things consid-ered! To run our fabulous learning pro-grammes, we need parent help...please let Rachael know if you are available, starting Friday Week 6, from 9-11am this term. Thanks!!

KOTUKU SWIMMING SPORTS (Year 4-6) This Friday 3rd March, from 8.45am - 12.15pm, at Waihi College Pool. Please take your child straight to the college instead of East School. We need help with assistance to run the swimming sports that morn-ing. Please text Rachael on 021555542, if you can help . Please come along to sup-port our swimmers at the College. The students are competing to qualify for the Waihi Cluster Swimming Sports which is on Thursday 9th March at the Waihi College Pool.

BEST START WAIHI EAST SCHOOL We would love to invite you to attend our Best Start workshops, here at Waihi East School, aimed at de-

livering successful transitions to school for all New Entrant children entering our Junior School. Our programme will look at 3 aspects of starting school, over 3 workshops sessions.

We invite you to attend the session in our staff room, whilst your child enjoys some time getting to know their teacher and classroom.

SESSION 1: WEDNESDAY 8TH MARCH 2017 - Our School. 9am-10am SESSION 2: WEDNESDAY 15TH MARCH 2017 - Literacy. 11.30am-12.30pm SESSION 3: WEDNESDAY 29TH MARCH 2017 - Numeracy. 1.45pm-2.45pm

TRIPS AND CAMPS A huge Thank You to all our parents who were able to come along on one or more of our camps over the last couple of weeks. They were all a massive success and we wouldn’t be able to put on such success-ful camps with out all of your support. Look out for future fundraisers to help pay for all these camps.

LIFE CHOICES If you would like your child to attend Life Choices this year please fill in the form that went home a couple of weeks ago or see the office for a new one. Even if you filled In the form for Life choices last year we need a new one this year. Please return filled in form to the office.

CARAVANNERS VISIT This weekend we have a group of caravans using our school grounds. Please make them feel welcome if you are around school this weekend. This is a fundrais-er for our school to go to-wards our camp costs.

POPCORN We have supply of popcorn for sale at the school office.

SEASONS Seasons pamphlets went home last week. Deanna

needs a another couple of students to sign up for this programme to run. Please

drop your filled in forms back to the office.

CHOCOLATE BAR FUNDRAISER We will be selling Chocolate Easter eggs $1.50 each and chocolate bars $2 soon. Look our for your box coming home soon. This is a fundraiser to help with offsetting camp costs. Please let the of-fice know if you DO NOT want a box sent home

with your child.

FREE EAR CLINIC SERIVICE FOR CHILDREN The caravan will be at Waihi Central School, Moresby Avenue on Friday March 3rd and Friday 7th April 2017. 9.30-12 and12.45-1.30pm. Visit the ear nurse for advice on Glue ear assessment and management, Wax/foreign body removal, Grommet checks and treatment of discharging ears. All children must be accompanied by a caregiver. For enquiries regarding this service please con-tact 07 838 3565.

Child, Youth and Family are currently looking for people in this area who can offer safe, caring, stable homes for young people in need of short term care, time out over weekends and/or holidays, or a home for life. Our team will support you to understand and manage the challenges of fostering a young person, and we will be there with you to celebrate the successes. You may be surprised; you could be just the right person to offer your care to a young person who needs you!
