THE WEEK AFTER THE 2010 WORLD CUP

Greetings from The Susan Deacon Property Group and the desk of Marcel Deacon.  It

has been a month of festivities, holidays, soccer, tennis, cycling and rugby for the

back on a positive showcase of what we as South Africans can do when we are put

to the test.

am pleased to inform you that we have had a 50% increase in inquiries over the last 4

weeks.  Sales also increased by 25%.  The rental market is still very active and

would be a good addition to our site, please be sure to let us know.

The Reserve Bank governor Gill Marcus have us all guessing on the outcome of this

month's monetary policy meeting.  I believe that the outcome of the next Monetary

Policy Committee meeting to be held on 21 and 22 July will see the interest rate

remaining unchanged. I also believe that it will remain unchanged for most of the

remainder of the year. I am very comfortable that in terms of stability, this will be good

SA WINS BIG WORLD TRAVEL AWARDS

South Africa cleaned up at the annual World Travel

Airways was named Africa's leading airline, South

African Tourism the Continent's leading tourism board

SA JUNE BUSINESS CONFIDENCE UP

South Africa's business confidence rose in June after a

dip the previous month, as positive sentiment stemming

from the World Cup offset a gloomy global economic

outlook, an industry survey showed on Thursday.

The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry

(SACCI) said its confidence index increased by 2.8 index

points to 84.8 in June on expectations the momentum

from the country's successful hosting of the soccer

tournament could yield long-term economic benefits.

"The World Cup 2010 tournament raised positive

sentiment domestically and internationally," the

business chamber said in a statement.

"The success of the tournament could boost domestic

business confidence despite indications that the global

economy may suffer a depressed economic outlook for

the medium term."

A WORLD CUP TO REMEMBER

The 2010 Fifa World Cup concluded in fine style on

Sunday, with the Spanish national side raising the

coveted trophy as champions for the first time. As the

curtain fell on the historic event, fans reflected on what

made the tournament so special for them.

Clad in their national colours, Spanish fans celebrated

as they left Soccer City stadium for the last time, as

victors of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

With tears of joy in his eyes and his hand on his heart,

Juan Toral stood with the profile of the stadium behind

him, amazed that out of the 64 games, 32 teams and

many weeks of football, his team would return home as

world champions. "I never thought I would live to see this

day," said Toral. "Tonight we showed the world we are

the best, this is a dream come true. Thank you to the

people of South Africa."

AFRICAN BUSINESS UPDATE

At the 2002 G8 meeting in Canada, leaders in a blaze of

fanfare promised Africa a fortune in aid, little of which

has materialised since. At last month's G8/G20

meetings - on which Canada spent $Can 930 million

just on security that could have been better spent on

African schools and hospitals - the only time Africa

seems to have featured was when David Cameron

invited his US and German counterparts to watch his

soccer team not winning against theirs at the bottom of

Africa. Nicolas Sarkozy went one further and cancelled a

briefing with an aid agency so he could personally

interrogate the captain of France's discredited national

soccer team.

SA WINS BIG WORLD TRAVEL AWARDS

South Africa cleaned up at the annual World Travel

Awards for Africa last night, winning 36 awards out of the

total 49 categories. Despite the pyramids, Egypt, its

nearest rival, managed to win only four.

For the sixth time in seven years the city of Cape Town

Of the 49 categories, six were awarded to multinational

entities with a strong presence in South Africa. Kenya,

Morocco and Namibia garnered one award each.

It’s all over – the expectation of the world and the anticipation of each and

every South African. South Africa made headlines once again and it wasn’t

only about the soccer – it was also amazement, it was praise, it was

congratulations and it was celebrations. This world cup reinforced the

saying: We’ve done it before we can do it again. We may take the

rollercoaster route and leave things to the 11th hour but wow ...when we get

there we sure make a statement.

THE WEEK AFTER THE 2010 WORLD CUP

Greetings from The Susan Deacon Property Group and the desk of Marcel Deacon.  It

has been a month of festivities, holidays, soccer, tennis, cycling and rugby for the

South African nation.  The 2010 Soccer World Cup came to an end and the new world

champions, SPAIN, crowned in Soccer City, Johannesburg.  We have been waiting for

this day for more than 10 years and it finally came with great success.  We can look

back on a positive showcase of what we as South Africans can do when we are put

to the test.

So far it has been a very busy season for the company and we can definitely see

the positive influence the World Cup has on the South African property market.  First, I

am pleased to inform you that we have had a 50% increase in inquiries over the last 4

weeks.  Sales also increased by 25%.  The rental market is still very active and

growing at the Susan Deacon Property Corp.  Holiday bookings and accommodation in

the Western Cape peaked with average bookings up by 75%.  The Susan Deacon

Property Group's online portal now include some of the best shopping malls on offer for

our investors.  Those seeking investments for the retirement years, we have some of

the best retirement estates to show our clients.  Whatever your needs, our group

is your one stop property shop.

In addition to current portfolio, we are currently negotiating with a number of additional

developers and associates to be included in the countries fastest growing property

group.  While we have a very extensive list of prospects, we are always interested in

finding new developments to target.  So, if you know of a development which you feel

would be a good addition to our site, please be sure to let us know.

I am very comfortable that in terms of stability, this will be good

and positive for the market.

With all the positive news and updates let's have a look we have on offer.  We only

have the best selected for our clients.

KNYSNA OYSTER FESTIVAL RECAP

ShareOrganisers of this year’s Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster

Festival, which finished on Sunday 11 July, say that

attendance figures at the festival exceeded expectations.

“When we looked at the dates for this year’s festival we

were concerned because they fell within the last 10 days

of the 2010 FIFA World Cup,” said Festival Manager Nicci

Rousseau-Schmidt. “We were unsure how this would

affect attendance at the festival. However, we’re

delighted that numbers were higher than expected and

the success of the festival does not seem to have been

affected by what was going on in the rest of the country.”

Rousseau-Schmidt said that The Pick n Pay Weekend

Argus Knysna Cycle Tour was 7% up on last year while

the Pick n Pay Cape Times Forest Marathon reported the

same numbers.

SPAIN TRIUMPH IN FIRST AFRICAN WORLD CUP

Spain gloried in a first World Cup triumph in Africa's first

hosting of the tournament that finally buried Spain's

decades-old tag of international underachievers, and

silenced critics that said South Africa would never be

able to do it.

Crowds in Madrid and elsewhere partied through the

night long after the last "Ole" sounded inside Soccer City,

Johannesburg, the scene of Spain's greatest soccer

moment.

"We still don't realise the full extent of this. It is

something incredible," match-winner Andres Iniesta said

while thousands of Spaniards left the famous stadium in

Soweto singing his name.

In Amsterdam, there was utter dejection as the Dutch

saw history repeat itself after defeats in 1974 and 1978

finals.
