Acknowledgement

A potter makes beautiful and attractive pots out of lumps of wet mud by providing

guidance with his fingers at various different points. A novice in the field of politics

and government is just like the lumps of wet mud, requiring guidance at every step of

his learning experience. I am glad to undertake such a live project at MIT School of

Government, Pune. To accomplish it, one needs a lot of guidance and support. I would

hence acknowledge the efforts of individuals who have guided this project to fruition.

At first I would like to thank the almighty for giving me the strength and vision to

complete this project and for being with me throughout this eventful journey.

I would like to express my deep sense of gratitude to student participants and MIT staff

for helping me in converting my conception into visualization and also for the

continuous support throughout the project.

Preface

Research survey’s is an integral part of Politics, Government and Electioneering

process. Theoretical knowledge provide only basic concept about the study, it doesn’t

guarantee in tackling practical problems. In order to produce a dynamic & promising

young leader this two have been blended together.

Research survey in Political and Government organization gives practical exposure of

the study, which is very important for the political parties and political executive who

undertakes this activities.

I had the privilege of doing “Survey on Influence of political Oratory on Voters” at

MIT Group of Institution, Pune. I choose this topic because common perception about

the style of oratory does influence the common people. To know, whether in Elections

also the thing is applied or not. For this effort is made to conduct survey.

The significant place Oratory as point of communication and its influence on voter is

the point of concern for everyone. The present study is the modest efforts to study

bravely the various aspects of the political orator ship and its influence on voters.

This report exposed me to the number of activities perform as well as helped me

exploring my views to get an experience of practical knowledge.

Introduction

If there is any issue on which political leaders and political party spend sleepless nights,

it is Elections and How to win, is heating up day by day and political parties are

devising new strategies to face it. The surest way of facing the elections is to improve

the performance of political party and their leaders. Productivity itself can best be

improved through improvement in work performance.

The style of Leadership is always having an influence on common people in the

society. People know their political leaders for various reasons. This is the reason why

a political leader must have commanding and watchful concerns of issues, of his/her

people.

The style of leadership involves lot many thing, of these styles political communication

gives a kind of assurance to the people. The reason communication is direct and verbal

with fellow people, participants and it gives them a sense of reconfirmation about their

issues.

In the light of recent discussion on various public forums, news papers and television

about style of leadership and his orator ship and its influence on people give me

thoughtful concern to look into the issue.

In a democratic country like India where lots of developmental issues are point of

concern and electioneering process gives an authority to wining party or leader to look

into the matter with fair and rationale concern. The voter are the king maker in this

process.

Objective

Success of a Political leader depends upon Performance, Communication and Support

of People. Here political communication (Style of Oratory) plays key role. And some

people believe that capability of oratory style will be appreciated with time. Hence if

political party or leader wants to ride on the path of success, it must vigil on

Performance, Political Communication and Support of its people.

This survey has very ordinary objective to enhance the factor on which voters are

influence these days while electing there leaders.

1. To know about the awareness about Oratory.

2. To know the style of Oratory influences people.

3. To know whether Political leader must be a good Orator.

4. To know Political Oratory has influence on voters.

5. To know on which factors people rate Political leaders.

Data Collection

For “Survey on Influence of Political Oratory on Voter” data is collected from

students and staff of MIT Group of Institution, Kothrud Campus, Pune.

Sample Size: - 243 (Students and Staff) Random sample

Conclusion

In spite of lot many talks on charismatic style of political leader’s oratory, it has clearly

found from the survey that voters do have influence of oratory style of leader, but while

rating them work is the foremost factor on which they evaluate political leaders.
