Supply Chain/Casting Scheduler: Novelis Aluminium Recycling, Thelwall lane, Warrington November 2014 - Present
Position Responsibilities Coordinating the plants production schedule, taking orders from the European metal sourcing team and building a production schedule for the plant’s operating teams to work from.Managing the company’s Optimat system BOM to help calculate and formulate the correct materials needed for the different alloys produced. Ensuring the melt mix is chemically in specification and calculating the cheapest mix using the various Aluminium scrap metals to hand.Daily reporting to Europe, inventory tracking/production performance, ensuring orders meet the required delivery date.Organising the plants exporting of goods, working with the operators across the plant to ensure the correct number of vehicles is needed to ship out the goods efficiently and on time.Working with the supplier’s ensuring the inbound metal is received on time and suitable for the plant. Liaising with the transport company’s to ensure transport runs smoothly giving support where needed.Ensuring the company’s stock control system AS400 is in line with the physical stock on site. Working closely with the weighbridge to ensure inbound metal and outbound goods is booked in/off correctly.
Main Tasks: Managing/Building a production schedule produced on excel
which is sent out on a daily basis Building excel template into the Optimat BOM system to
calculate charges Liaising with the plant’s production manager to monitor
production Reporting to metal management regarding production,
outlining any potential issues. Managing inventory, finding a balanced mix of materials to
produce the alloy needed Working with the metal management team to plan for
shortfalls or divert excess materials elsewhere. Organising the export of goods out to Europe and UK
transport hubs. Liaising with all departments
(technical/engineering/production/) on site to ensure despatching runs smoothly.
Analysing incoming material for chemical composition Managing the AS400 system, to ensure all stock reflects
physical stock on site.
