On behalf of our family we would like to welcome you all and sincerely thank you for taking time to read our Ranch Royalty Catalog! The cattle on the following pages truly represent our program and are the “blood, sweat and tears” of Brumley Farms. For those of you that have either ventured this far West to the “middle of no where” on the high desert of Nevada, know us well enough to know we are truly a “family operation.” Speaking of our “family,” we would like to take a minute to again congratulate Jeremy “Reno” on being named the American Hereford Association 2017 Herdsman of the Year! It is much deserved and we are very proud to work with him! We take great pride in putting in long days and enjoying the bounty of our efforts. These cattle run out on the desert grasses and are functional, sound, easy going and just work while being good to look at as well.

We are so excited to offer the first “Down Home” calves and they are exceptional! He “Stamped” them all with a “LOOK” while being stout, super clean fronted and just plain cool to look at! We also were thrilled as our first “Laramie” daughters came into production. They are just flat out BEAUTIFUL! Please do not miss out or overlook this set. We may be most proud of the fact that our heifers continue to go on and make incredible cows and raise extremely competitive bred and owned heifers to show. We have continued to strive to bring a set of heifers that we would be proud to take to any show and send home to anyone! These heifers can compete at any level and be competitive. We have honestly not held ANY heifer back from this calf crop. For the first time, we are offering some of our best replacements along with a couple of fall heifer prospects. These are some unbelievable opportunities! Please take some time to look over this offering, this is humbly the BEST set of natural calves we have EVER offered.

Please join us October 8, in Caldwell, for Ranch Royalty and make a weekend out of it. The cattle will be on display starting Friday with our Certified Hereford Steak dinner and Sunday Brunch before the sale!

Our Best,The Brumleys

• Never before have we offered a Flirt with this much donor potential. This dark red beauty is the epitome of cow power!! Study this one from the side and then get right in behind her, we promise you won’t find one with this much hip, dimension and substance. Flirt stamps her daughters with look and integrity as they go into production, there will be no guesswork here, and then we combine that with 8Y. We add in his growth, performance and EPD profile and we have hit the jackpot. Check out 7002’s growth and ribeye EPD numbers for yourself; they speak for themselves. This female has the phenotypical pieces and the genotype to raise you herd bulls and show heifers. Pick your poison; she will take any program to the next level!

• Powerfully made and well-balanced female with lots of body. Take a look at the teat placement on this female; udder quality and milk production will not be a problem with this one. Dam is a maternal sister to Flirt and has made quite a name for herself all on her own. 710T has raised several sale features that have proven themselves in the showring, and they are now proving themselves as donors. She is a youthful, easy fleshing, perfect uddered cow that never misses. This combined with the maternal greats on the top side of this pedigree make her the real deal. The cow power runs deep in this female. We are starting this sale with two females that define cow power and donor potential Get it while it’s hot! We don’t offer up opportunities like this every day. Their donor dams aren’t getting any younger.

• Quite a duo we have here. The dam of these flush mates, 8504, is everything you’d expect from a P606 daughter: feminine, square hipped and sound with added rib shape and volume that raised a sale feature purchased by the Folkman family last year. We combined this with Laramie to add yet some more structural integrity and proven performance. This mating gave us everything we hoped for. 7007 is the more moderate of the two that is sleeker in her make-up and more extended through her front end, but is still stout and powerful enough to make her a complete package.

• The picture speaks for itself. This female is moderate with loads of depth and dimension, and is about as good looking as you will find in this line up of females. You won’t miss this one when looking through the pen. She’s also extremely sound and has a very well-balanced set of EPDs, which makes this female a real sale highlight. She’s out of a 2-year-old that goes back to a beautiful, never-miss Jamison cow. Her sire is a 10Y son out of the infamous “Sammie” Shaw cow. We kept him to use on heifers, and boy are we glad we did. Pedigree and phenotype, come see this one for yourself.

• We will lead with this… sale feature! If you want stoutness, bone, hip, plenty of rib AND eye appeal, look no further. This one is just cool to look at and we appreciate her for all she brings to the table. She’s been a favorite from the beginning. From every angle you study this one she is impressive. Her mother, 774T, is maternal sister to Flirt, making her a double bred 24 Karat daughter. The Down Home calves are all stout and good looking, but we lead off with a daughter that brings together everything we hoped he’d produce. It’s hard to make one this good looking with this much power and still remain sound. This one can show big time then make her way to the donor pen.

• This one is hard to part with! The NO MISS cow family and pedigree alone speak for itself! That long neck we all like to see in a show heifer, she is long and level in her hip and has that beautiful sweep to her rib cage. We say every year when her mother, 030X, comes in with another good one that she needs to be in the donor pen. We said the Down Home calves had look, but she takes it to another level. • Great combination of look and power! The “colored up” one of the bunch, which only adds to her striking appearance. She has caught our eye since day one. Her dam, 401B, was successfully campaigned by and is owned with Fallon Gohr. She was a many-time class and division winner. The power in her pedigree is stacked for generations. Take a look for yourself, she really does carry the heart and foundation of our program.

• Long necked and good looking female. This one has the show heifer look. Her mother, 4138, is a picture perfect, moderate Hereford cow that we crossed with Down Home to add power, performance and eye appeal. We think we hit a home run! Check out this female’s carcass EPDs…negative fat, 0.61 on REA, and 0.19 on Marbling! This one has the eye appeal to raise show heifers and the pedigree and numbers to raise herd bulls.

• There is a lot we can say about the future we believe this one can have, and the impact we believe she will have. Her mother, 4100, is out of the foundation donor we lost last year, H Yours Truly 361. She is a picture perfect 10Y daughter. We bred her to Laramie and the result, 667D, might be the female to replace Yours Truly. When you study this one’s power, dimension, her structural integrity and then look at her phenomenal set of EPDs, you will see what we see. This one will just hang out in the front pasture and wait for her entrance to the donor pen.

• We expect big things from this female and that is why we are retaining ½ interest.

You can follow Allysum’s pedigree back on both sides and find some high performing sires and dams. She presents herself in a very proud way with femininity in her shoulder, neck and head and has heavy pigment in both eyes. Dear fellow Hereford breeders and friends,

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the liquidation of the OJJ Cattle herd. We are the fourth generation raising Hereford cattle so it truly is bitter sweet. We have contemplated this decision for the last few years now. With our children and grandchildren living so far away, we have decided that now is the time for this liquidation to take place so we can move closer to them and take part in their lives more. We will be heading to southern Utah.

We are bringing our best show heifer selection from the finest calf crop we’ve ever had. Several of these calves are sired by our outstanding Manhattan bull who did very well in the showring as well as in breeding. He is very consistent in leaving a clean pattern, heavy pigment, goggle-eyes and added body length in his offspring.

We sincerely hope that you juniors will study the genetics, phenotype and performance data of these beautiful females and find your next show heifer from this group.

Please call, email or text any questions you may have about this offering of heifers or any cattle we have, including semen and embryos.

We are grateful to Shaw’s for once again opening up their ranch to us. We also want to thank the Brumley’s for allowing us to join them in their Ranch Royalty Sale again this year.

Our best to you. Sincerely,

Bruce and Linda Sharp

OJJ

Her calf this year is definitely in that category. Juliet is a beautiful, red to the ground Manhattan heifer that is a great show prospect. Once again, Manhattan has passed along some great traits such as Juliet’s color, femininity and soundness. She would be a beautiful female in anyone’s program.

• Pearl is an outstanding, broody Hometown 10Y daughter out of F 480 Dominette 632. This dam’s grandsire is the great CL 1 Domino 480P bull. I thought so much of this incredible 632 cow from the Feddes herd in Montana, that I purchased two of her powerful heifer calves and then flushed 632 to 10Y resulting in this tremendous heifer.

• The sire to this calf is the great Denver National Champion Grizzly bull. Her mother, TF Cow Made 920 226, has a pedigree filled with high performing and champion sires and dams, including P606 on the maternal side and Achiever 8403 on the paternal side. Tianna continues to grow and develop into an exceptional female. She is very showy and long bodied. A definite front pasture cow following a show career.
