Members All!
It’s now August and summer is in full swing and a lot is going on! The Lodge had another 7 new members join last month. It seems the Lodge members are still enjoying all the new features of the remodel and it’s nice to hear the positive comments. Along with the new gaming machines and the Queen of Hearts it seems that the Lodge is benefiting well from them.
I want to says THANKS to all those people who do all the extra stuff that sometimes goes unnoticed such as the people who cut the grass, pull weeds around the building, fix building issues, cooks, and all the wonderful staff. I also want to THANK the committees, officers, and all the others who make my life easy as your current Exalted Ruler.
The Childrens Care Committee is now working on the fall auction. This is an important event for our Lodge due to the fact that we are one of a very small handful that do it live on TV. A lot of Lodges don’t do an event at all, so lets keep this great event going! The Committee has past donor cards that are available at the bar but I also want to encourage us all to ask new donors or even personally donate an item to the event.
The Queen of Hearts is still building and has reached the $6000 mark! So come up to the Lodge every Saturday night at 8pm and be part of it. You may just WIN!!!!!! Congrats to all of those who have been drawn so far.
In conclusion, there are a lot of events that are happening this month. There are member food nights, burger nights, steak nights, gun raffle, queen of hearts drawings, and special events all set up for this month. So come on down to the Lodge and have a good time!
Thanks! Matt Dammerman

Because the Effingham Elks is located within the South Banker Street Business District Boundaries, The South Banker Street Business District will go into effect on July 1, 2018 and the sales tax will be 7.5%, Effective on July 1, 2018.
Therefore the Lodge Board of Directors has decided, due to the increase sales tax, we will need to increase all alcoholic drink costs across the board $0.25 and we will be increasing the cost of food nights approximately $1.00 depending on what food is being offered.
Thank you for your continued supportYour Board of Directors
