   Summer  Institute  courses  scheduled  in  Apple  Valley,  MN,  will  be  held  at  our  Math  Recovery®  training  center.  Apple  Valley  is  a  suburb  of  Minneapolis-­‐St.  Paul,  so  those  desiring  flights  should  choose  the  MSP  airport.      A  block  of  rooms  has  been  reserved  at    GrandStay  Hotel  of  Apple  Valley  until  May  27,  2015.  Please  call  952-­‐953-­‐6111  for  reservations  and  mention  Math  Recovery®  Summer  Institute.  The  rate  is  $109.90+tax.      The  hotel  offers  free  shuttle  service,  between  7:30am  and  5:00pm,  to  and  from  the  airport.      Meeting  locations,  coffee  shops,  restaurants  and  retail  shops  are  located  within  walking  distance  of  the  hotel.    Participants  are  responsible  for  their  own  transportation,  lodging,  and  meals.

Add+VantageMR®  Champion  Course  Math  Recovery®  

Intervention  Specialist  Course  

Math  Recovery®  Leader  

Prerequisites:  Math  Recovery®  Intervention  Specialist  Designation  and  participation  in  Add+VantageMR®  Course  1  and  Add+VantageMR®  Course  2

The  Math  Recovery®  Intervention  Specialist  Course  is  a  yearlong  professional  development  experience  that  begins  with  4  

   days  take  

place  over  two  visits  in  Apple  Valley,  MN,  for  a  total  of  10  face-­‐to-­‐face  days  of  instruction.  The  days  of  instruction  will  be  scheduled  according  with  participant  input,  one  in  September  and  the  second  in  January.  

The  Math  Recovery®  Leader  Course  is  a  yearlong  professional  development  experience  that  begins  with  6  days  of  face-­‐to-­‐face  instruction.  This  course  focuses  on  necessary  knowledge  required  to  facilitate  and  support  Math  Recovery®  Intervention  Specialists  in-­‐district.      Participants  are  provided  a  course  facilitation  guide  as  well  as  materials  and  videos  needed  to  conduct  the  Math  Recovery®  Intervention  Specialist  Course.    This  training  is  essential  in  supporting  district  intervention  and  to  establish  a  depth  of  Math  Recovery®  knowledge  that  supports  intervention  and  Add+VantageMR®  district  implementation.  

This  course  focuses  on  the  necessary  knowledge  required  to  conduct  Add+VantageMR®  Course  1  and  Add+VantageMR®  Course  2.      Participants  are  provided  a  course  facilitation  guide  as  well  as  materials  and  videos  needed  to  conduct  each  professional  development  course.  This  training  is  essential  in  creating  professional  development  sustainability  for  Math  Recovery®  programs  at  the  district  level.  

To  become  designated  as  a  Math  Recovery®  Intervention  Specialist  by  USMRC,  participants  will  need  100  hours  of  one-­‐on-­‐  one  Math  Recovery®  intervention  teaching  with  students  qualifying  for  Math  Recovery®  services.    To  support  intervention  teaching,  participants  will  have  virtual  one-­‐on-­‐one  coaching  sessions  with  the  course  leader  and  participate  in  monthly  group  virtual  video  share  meetings.    Additional  requirements  are  to  complete  an  assessment  project  and  final  case  study  project  to  demonstrate  competencies  in  assessment  and  teaching.  

Add+VantageMR®  Champion  includes  5  days  of  face-­‐to-­‐face  professional  development  during  Summer  Institute.
