An embedded system consists of hardware and software. When

chips are built into systems and software is loaded on that for a

particular functionality, it becomes an embedded system.

Embedded systems are the micro-processor/micro-controller

based computing/control systems which are designed to

perform a specific or a set of tasks.

General purpose systems

Embedded systems

• Designed to perform a

specific task. i.e. a limited

operations.

constrained.
