  • What could be more romantic than a Hamptons getaway? A Hamptons wedding, of course! Whether you just got engaged, are seeing someone new, or simply love to daydream, there’s no shortage of swoon-inspiring settings on the East End. The diversity here – from farms and fields to vines and vineyards to the open ocean – leaves almost endless possibilities for brides- and grooms-to-be, and the only thing more difficult than saying “yes!” might be deciding where to say “I do.” Here, four of our favorites, each suited to a very different but no less festive celebration.

Vino Views: Bedell CellarsIf you or your intended is a wine lover, surely you already know that the East End is the best place on the East Coast for your celebration. Located on the North Fork, Bedell Cellars is widely regarded as among the finest wineries on Long Island, and their estate is a picture postcard of views ideal for all of your photos.

The venue itself is the winery’s tasting room, complete with cathedral ceilings and an attached 4,000-square-foot mahogany deck overlooking the vines. The apple orchard and lawn nearby are also available for cocktails and ceremonies, in case you want to be closer to nature. The event coordinator here works closely with a variety of caterers to help meet your budget and taste, and of course, if it’s wine you want, you’ll have no shortage of top-notch options to toast your nuptials.

  • Surf Chic:Gurney’s MontaukFor salt air in your hair and sunshine off the surf in your photos, picture-perfect Gurney’s Montauk is a terrific choice. Their on-site venues range from intimate cocktail parlors overlooking the beach to sprawling reception halls to an expansive outdoor roof deck with waterfront views. The Beach Club is right on the sand beneath a rustic pergola of Edison bulbs and is the only on-the-beach dining venue in the Hamptons. WiFi and a sound system are also available, so your al fresco affair needn’t be totally analog.

Looking for something a bit more glamorous? The Great Hall can accommodate gatherings of up to 300 and also subdivides into three equal-sized rooms for smaller parties. Blackout capabilities make for a dramatic entrance for the new couple, and soaring windows offer an up-close view of the waves reaching the shore.

Modern Fairytale:Brecknock HallNo wealthy great-uncle with a stone mansion? No problem. This gracious-yet-comfortable venue is the stuff of fairy tales, with sunset views of the water, white pillars supporting the front porch, expansive drawing rooms ideal for artful photos, and a generous policy of offering you and your guests 48 hours of unfettered access to the property for your ceremony and reception.

Make yourself at home and at ease, with a restroom attendant and security available on site to keep your event moving smoothly. A private bridal suite allows the lady of the hour to prepare in peace with her ’maids, while the groomsmen’s quarters give the gentlemen a place to await the big moment. Access to a private beach on the sound is also available for photos, and ample parking makes arrivals and departures a breeze.

  • Country Charm:Mulford FarmBuilt in 1680 (!!!), the Mulford House is considered one of the most significant English Colonial farmsteads remaining in America. Largely unchanged since 1750, it’s a living story, with plenty to tell about the bold men and women who first set foot on what would become American soil and thought to make a home here. What could be a more moving location for your vows than one of the country’s earliest homes, peopled by so pioneering a family? Today, Mulford Farm is in the care of the East Hampton Historical Society and makes a breathtaking backdrop for a cozy Hamptons wedding.

If your flower budget is modest, you’ll want to explore Rachel’s Garden, the on-site recreation of an 18th-century dooryard garden. Once a home to medicinal, culinary, dyeing, and housekeeping plants, it was also the property’s supply of cut flowers and is expertly maintained by the East Hampton Garden Club’s devoted members.

  • HONEYMOONdestination

When wedding bells have sung out their final ring, it’s time to think about skipping the light fantastic out of town. Honeymoons are the reward for the sometimes arduous task of planning and executing a wedding and therefore should be a time of celebration for the newlyweds.

You’ve spent all of that time hunting down the perfect dress for your special day, so let us help you hone those hunting skills even further. If you’re planning a getaway with your beloved, you’ll need to pick up a few essentials before you dash off. You’ll be snapping pictures (and posting them, no doubt), so you’ll want to be dressed for the occasion, and we’ve got just the right threads for the honeymoon of your dreams.

the european escapists What could be more glamorous than a sexy European ensemble for your honeymoon getaway? Let’s start off with a classic move for any European fashionista: the silk scarf. Hermes has more or less cornered the market for these, and every woman deserves to have at least one of them in her arsenal. Wrap yourself up in The Aloha scarf, a vibrantly illustrated depiction of a tropical paradise, centering on a thick, beautiful tree and a congregation of exotic birds.

A sometimes overlooked vacation costume piece, the midi skirt can be supremely comfortable. Anthropologie's Riverine Midi Skirt is a linen (with a touch of spandex for some added give) stunner, complete with slant pockets, that is easy to pack and go. Available in white, green, or sky blue, it pairs marvelously with tanks for daytime jaunts on the beaches of the Amalfi Coast, as well as dressier tops for mealtime. If you’re going to take the sightseeing and casual route around Paris, perhaps the Hammonds Sneaker from The Offce of Angela Scott is an exquisite way to go. A major cut above a typical slip-on, these poplin skate sneaks are adorned with black screened stripes and a full leather interior. Worn by the likes of Julia Roberts and Ellen Degeneres, Angela Scott’s shoes are the stuff of celebrity folklore.

  • Flagpole'sThe Grace Swim Cover Up

the beach bums If you’d rather segue into wedded bliss on the sand and hear the waves crash upon the shore in a more laid-back ensemble, we’ve got you covered. Seilenna’s Rosella one-piece swimsuit is a blossoming firecracker that combines old-fashioned style with cutting-edge fun. The print, a floral executed with modern flair, showcases pink bursts of blossoms atop two distinct versions of the same cut: cream and deep purple. You’ll look the part of a classic Hollywood bombshell in the haltered top, which is fully adjustable and suits any body type.

Barney’s has got a Lola Hat which is the ideal accessory to top off this look. Keeping with the vintage iconography of the Rosella suit, these sweet, handmade straw lids are great for keeping your precious skin safe from the harshness of the, let’s say, Bermuda sun. While you’re taking a gander at Barney’s wares, slip into their Flagpole Swim cover up to complete your beachy look. Alternatively called The Grace Semi-Sheer Loose-Knit Dress, it’s an uber glam crewneck lengthy cover up, allowing for some additional protection against those beaming rays.

  • the safari seekers For the more active honeymooner, a more rugged and stalwart outfit is in order. Abercrombie’s Drapey Trench Vest is a great place to start. A brilliant hybrid of function and form, you’ll be ready for adventure with this reliable long vest in a billowy cotton blend. The belted waist will keep your figure on display, while the deep pockets will allow you to tote around all of your necessaries.

Pair it with a deep green pair of J. Crew’s skinny stretch cargo pant with zippers and you’ll be a knockout ready for anything. With details like zippers at the ankles and vintage-style cargo pockets, they sit just above the hip and are made to keep you at your absolute comfiest, even in the African game parks. You’ll need some stylish shades for long days in an open four-wheeler seeing the roaming lions, and leopards, and hippos, (oh my!), and Brooklyn Spectacles’s Benson Suns in a dark cherry wood is the perfect combination of chic New York and rugged outdoorswoman.

Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets With all the running around

you’ll be doing, your nerves will be riding high. There’s a lot to

do after all and an oily t-zone is the bane of brides everywhere. Clean & Clear’s Oil Absorbing

Sheets are great not only because they can soak up all

of that unwanted grit but also because they’re compact and

    easy keep at the ready.

    stay cool

You’ve waited for this day your entire life and we don’t blame you

one bit. After all of the planning and preparation, we want everything to go smoothly for you. We’ve got your back

so that all you need to worry about is having the time of your life. You

    deserve it!

Wedding Belles ‘Poppy’ Hairpin You’ve got the dress. You paired it with an exquisite pair of heels (as well as a pair of comfy flats

for later). If you’ve got a plan for some seriously dramatic hair, a

pin can add some extra flair to the statement you’re making as you

walk down the aisle. This gorgeous piece is an intricately designed congregation of Czech crystals

and glass pearls that will gleam brightly from the top of a bendable hairpin. It works for up dos or can

even be plunged into your veil. Hang onto it after the nuptial day has passed as you’ll likely get long-term use out of this magnificently

    versatile bauble.

    Thayers Witch Hazel

Astringents are a blessing when you’re trying to keep your skin clear. No one wants to have to

battle a breakout, especially not on their wedding day. Thayer’s

Witch Hazel Astringent is a formula so magical that it

might as well be brewed by real witches. Pick up a bottle of the Organic Lavender Mint with Aloe Vera and you’ll get the

added bonus of a fabulous feast for your senses as you keep your

    skin looking luminous.

Evian Mineral Spray Dryness is a drag, isn’t it? Evian’s

Mineral Spray hydrates and tones your skin with a refreshingly fine mist of spring water for your face. Spritz it

onto bare skin to enhance your natural beauty or over makeup to revitalize color

throughout your big day. What’s more, it can work to remove perspiration, salt from the ocean and even pool chlorine,

so no matter where you are, be it at your wedding or on your honeymoon, this stuff

will keep your skin hydrated. Not to be discounted is the delicious sensation

when you feel it cascade across your face.

    Degree Motion Sense Deodorant

Deodorant might not be the most glamorous of wedding day necessaries, but take our word for it...it’s necessary. Whether your dress is sleeveless or not,

you’ll want to keep things fresh and clear. With notes of rose and jasmine, Degree Motion Sense is engineered with microscapsules that sit on the

surface of your skin. Whenever there’s friction, the capsules break and release more fragrance, keeping you odor-free

    for a whopping 48 hours!

WEDDEDwanderingsAfter you’ve said “I do,” an excursion can be a wonderful opportunity for you to let out a gentle exhale. After the big day it’s time to start your life together, and what better way to do that than with a getaway planned for two? Vacation time doesn’t have to come with the constricting and stuffy discomfort of the suit-and-tie route you take during your working hours, but you can still maintain some dapper cohesion. Sexy vacation archetypes have flooded pop culture in every decade, and we’ve got some of the best ones with accompanying brands.

Make Her Fall in Love All Over Again

The European Escapists If you’re opting for something posh, we suggest looking back to the dreamy phantasmagoria of the 1950’s. Style icons like Clark Gable, Rossano Brazzi, and Cary Grant had a way with fashion that is still emulated by men around the world. If you’re looking for something of major continental class to kick off your post-nuptial celebration, start with one of Grana’s Silk Cashmere Short-Sleeve Knitted Polos. A classic staple for any man’s wardrobe, polos are the best of both worlds for menswear. The fabric keeps things breathable and soft, while the structure and collar take it a dressier notch above a tee. This look is aiming to bridge comfort and style, so

you might want to forgo slacks and slip into a sexy pair of well-fitting jeans. Diesel’s Thomer 0860L are beautifully constructed dark blue duds whose skinny fit has a bit more room through the thigh. The bottom hem on the leg has a narrow cut and design to float perfectly over your shoes. Speaking of shoes, there’s no reason you have to

opt for the stiffness of a hard loafer. While you’re not going quite for tennis shoes here, you can still have it all. Lacoste’s Chaymon Low-Rise Leather and Suedette Sneakers are just what you need. Chocolate brown leather is paired with sports-inspired ballistic mesh panels. Intricate details like the tonal eyelets and the iconic metal crocodile that signals the Lacoste devotion to greatness make these leather sneakers the right thing on a lively jaunt through The Champs-Élysées.

    Grana'sSilk Cashmere Polo

  • The Beach Bums Perhaps you’re after something a bit more laid back for your honeymoon. The beach is, after all, one of the most sought after attractions for love birds on holiday. You’re a husband now. Dress like one – it’s time to toss out those old bathing trunks and get yourself something that marries (no pun!) style with function. Florentino has a variety of eye-catching swimwear this summer that will do all of the work for you. The dashing deep blue of the Flower Printed Swimsuit would pair wonderfully with a t-shirt or a light linen button down. The elastic waist and drawstring will keep everything in place, while the delicate floral print in light blue atop the darker background will be sure to turn heads on the beach. Alternatively, if red is more your color, check out the Red Flower Printed Swimsuit, which, like the Blue Flower Printed suit, hits mid thigh and is constructed with expert precision. These are beautifully contoured suits that are built to last. Step into a pair of Vince’s Pool Slide

Sandals while you’re at it. Designed in a magnificent, creamy soft Italian leather with a contoured footbed, they give your feet that much-needed support. Takuya Duncan’s collection of super comfy tees will top this look off perfectly, most notably their Austin Slub Crew T-Shirt, available in a variety of vibrant colors. Even if you opt for the classic white, you’ll still be draping yourself in a bright and expertly crafted piece that promises to pop.

    Florentino'sFlower Printed Swimsuit

  • The Safari Seekers If an African adventure is what you’re after, perhaps the rugged, safari look is right for your honeymoon. But don’t forget that the strapping man’s man archetype can still carry some strong style choices. Abercrombie’s Safari Jacket is perfect for a light cover. Made from a breathable linen/cotton blend it features patch pockets and industrial-strength buttons, underarm vents and a waist adjuster to suit the contours of your body. As an added bonus, the jacket is available in three earthy shades.

For your lower half, Banana Republic has sleek chinos available in a variety of colors and cuts. The Fulton Skinny Stretch Chino, for example, comes in 10 distinct shades, from traditional khaki to more adventurous colors, like pumpkin or mistletoe. Made with 97% cotton, there’s a dash (3% to be exact) of spandex to allow for a bit of give through the leg and crotch. For your feet, pick up a pair of Clark’s Desert Boots. Whether you want suede or shiny leather, there’s a wide variety of choices for color and materials. Although it’s a bit heavier than is customarily sought for summer, the good news is that not only is the shoe easy to slip on and lace up, but the sturdy leather will allow for a seamless segue into your autumn wardrobe when you and your bride return home.

“I feel that every wedding is different,” says Bailly, referring to her approach when it comes to putting together a blissful Hamptons affair. “And I feel that it is very important, for the wedding to be successful, to be able to capture the bride and the groom’s personality.”

With a laugh, the floral designer says her process starts with the first meeting, but not so much in the way you would expect.

“I look at many details, you know?” she begins. “I look at the way they stand or they hold themselves. I look at their outfits as well so it kind of guides me into the direction of, are they more like preppy style, or they want something that’s more clean, they want something that’s more rustic or something that’s more romantic.”

As a client, you can expect Bailly to ask seemingly atypical questions, such as ones involving your favorite fashion designer and what you do for a living. These personality probes may vary, but the one that will hold the most weight for the team at L’Atelier Rouge is: What are your priorities as the host?

Whether you want to emphasize the ceremony or serve your meal family-style, or want the cocktail hour to glow in the spotlight, all of these aspects influence the design of the space. Instead of rearranging your ideal wedding, the team wants to work with your vision and plan accordingly.

Prior to any meeting, clients can count on Bailly to do her homework, taking into account any proposed inspiration boards and budgets, which she always requests. Her work and that of her team

is not just geared toward large budgets; rather, it aims to maximize design with whatever the budget happens to be.

When speaking about her favorite projects, Bailly swoons over the memory of a July 2016 Montauk wedding. She remembers how the “super cute” couple fit the adorned church and the suspension tent dripped with wisteria vine. It is not an endless budget that keeps her reminiscing; instead it is the view, which was overlooking the water near Gurney’s.

The floral professional makes it clear that when it comes to picking the right arrangement, temperature and setting are key components. “You want to work with the space rather than contradict it,” she says.

Bailly also mentions how important it is to recognize the time of year and ability or lack thereof to control the temperature in the venue. “We like to take chances, but at the same time I know that some particular flowers are not gonna be happy if the weather is too hot.”

Because each different environment is subject to temperature changes, we decided to focus on the container arrangement, leaving the choice of how to fill those containers up to the experts. Bailly suggests using more glass or ceramic containers for the summer, saving metals for winter weddings.

If you are planning an event for this summer and want to take an on-trend approach for your décor, Bailly suggests daring and colorful arrangements. She says yellows, plush pinks, blues and greens are colors that will make it all pop. Something else she loves to do at the moment is incorporate fruit into the arrangements; mixing and matching ceramic containers and chinoiserie vessels can be fun too.

  • Leeza Braun is a family business and you source your diamonds from your father’s diamond company. How do you put into words what it’s like to be one of the first steps in helping someone else start their family?

So exciting! We’re there for the very first important purchase. It’s the most exciting time for our clients and we are grateful to be a part of it. The feeling we have when they come back for anniversary gifts, push presents, etc., is truly amazing. Family means so much to us. We’re so happy to be a part of that first step into the next chapter of their lives.

You pride yourselves on providing a personal and intimate process of picking out the perfect jewels. How do you approach helping a client pick out an engagement ring?

We start with the diamond selection and education; we help our clients get the best diamond value for their budget. Then we help them select a setting from our many setting styles, one that will suite their personal taste and lifestyle, and one that will maximize the brilliance of the diamond they select.

Have you ever had clients who came in with no direction or idea of what they wanted? How do you go about advising them?

Many times! We try not to overwhelm them, but rather carefully lay out the options and narrow down the field in terms of diamond quality and shape. Then we show the various differences in the settings to help narrow that down as well.

What words of advice can you offer to the average proposer who is overwhelmed by the process?

Take it slow! We’ll help you through the process and guide you one step at a time.

Some proposees know exactly what they want in a ring. How can they drop some hints without being too forward?

Have a close friend drop hints or leave pictures lying around with the style ring you would like.

You offer a myriad of engagement rings and wedding bands. Do you see a lot of on-trend purchases or do the classics remain the crowd favorite?

Classics are the most popular, however for some on-trend purchases we might make a classic in rose or yellow gold, or add a personal detail within the classic style.

You offer a wide selection of fancy color diamonds. What color would you say speaks the words “summer engagement”?

All the fancy colors are unique and beautiful, but yellow really says summer and sunshine!

What can consumers look out for to tell them the diamond they’re buying

might not be as high quality as they think?

Check to see what type of certification the diamond has. If the diamond has any other type of certificate other than GIA it may not be as high quality as you think. Different labs have different standards.

Sometimes it’s hard even for jewelers to tell the difference between high- and higher-quality diamonds. How can consumers be sure they are getting what they are paying for?

First, you must have trust in the person you are buying from. Always ask for your GIA certificate and never leave your ring to be cleaned or tighten or repaired anywhere other than the place of purchase.

The women of Leeza Braun know their stuff when it comes to diamonds. Now, they offer some words of wisdom for those of you looking to tie the knot in the near future. From their client-conscious approach to their opinions on how to find the right ring, Judy and Aliza Schachter share their expertise.

  • friday, july 21The Brooklyn-based indie band Small Black brings their wistful and noisy indie-pop rock sound to The Surf Lodge in Montauk on Friday, July 21st. The group was formed after the name came to front man Josh Kolenik on a winter trip to Portland, Oregon. Once back in New York, Kolenik collaborated with guitarist Ryan Heyner and began making music on vintage keyboards in the attic above his uncle’s surf shop. Juan Pieczanski and Jeff Curtin entered the fray, and in 2010 the group released their first full album, New Chain.

Since then, with two more studio albums under their belt, the group has toured extensively, playing the festival circuit with appearances at Fun Fun Fun Fest, Capitol Hill Block Party, and SXSW Music Festival, among many others. Their aesthetic includes a combination of hi-fi and lo-fi sounds, acoustic and synthetic arrangements, and melodic and lyrical vocals, creating a dreamy and chill sound. • At once hot but cold, peppery but refreshing, spicy cocktails are having a heyday. When it comes to drinking, if you’re among those who like it hot, here are six spots in the Hamptons shaking up interesting concoctions with a bite that will add heat of their own to these summer months.

Few places in the Hamptons are as barefoot casual as Rumba, modeling itself on a Caribbean seafood shack with tropical food, a friendly staff, paddle fans churning a cool breeze, and live music throughout the summer. Of course, no island-themed retreat would be complete without a rum bar, which here shakes up coconut martinis, a range of fresh-fruit mojitos, rum sangria, and a potent rum punch.

However, for those who don’t choose rum as their tipple of choice—or simply want something with a kick to go with their jerk chicken and guacamole—the tequila-based Sweet Heat awaits, with Chambord, blackberries, fruit juice, and just a bit of jalapenos. The purple concoction matches perfectly with the sky as the sun sets and Shinnecock Bay glistens in the foreground. There may not be palm trees, but with this view, could anyone care less? (43 Canoe Place Rd., Hampton Bays)

Set on a former navy base with a 200-foot-long private beach, the aptly-named Navy Beach restaurant has one of the best panoramic views in the Hamptons. Overlooking Fort Pond Bay in Montauk, it’s an altogether scenic watering hole, with its outside tables popular grounds for day drinking. Gather a group and come here to anchor down with some pitchers of cocktails and plates of parmesan fries as boaters drop their anchors in the harbor and meander in to do the same.

As sunset and dinner time roll around, the menu beckons with buttermilk fried chicken and blackened mahi mahi with hearts of palm and mango chutney in the yacht club–chic dining room—fare substantial enough to counteract an afternoon of drinking. Or, if you’re looking to continue onward, kick things back into action with the spicy Hot Skinny Wench margarita and set sail into nighttime activities. (16 Navy Rd., Montauk)

Two years ago, Wölffer Kitchen opened in Sag Harbor as the brick-and-mortar eatery of one of Long Island’s finest wineries, Wölffer Estate Vineyard. One after the other, top critics raised a glass to its meticulous service, Mediterranean-style seasonal cuisine, and stellar wine menu of bottles not only from Wölffer but also numerous other local and renowned international vineyards. Now with a second location in Amagansett (and different menu to accompany), Wölffer Kitchen remains one of the best spots to wine and dine, with an emphasis on the former.

Be sure, however, not to overlook the small selection of cocktails, some of which make use of the vineyard’s output, like the mint-and-berry rosé sangria that pairs perfectly with oysters to start. Or, opt for a spicy ceviche or lamb lollipops with salsa verde and sip a Main Street Margarita with muddled jalapenos and start the night on a hot note. (29 Main St., Sag Harbor; 4 Amagansett Square Dr.)

At the crossroads of Montauk Highway and the Sag Harbor in Bridgehampton, the white Greek revival beauty known as Topping Rose House stands as one of the finest small hotels on Long Island, with the type of farm-chic style that feels like an aristocratic country house. Its contemporary American restaurant, which has changed hands from Tom Colicchio to Jean Georges, is one of the most acclaimed restaurants in the Hamptons, with much of the produce picked fresh from the property’s one-acre garden and served in a refined dining room with white walls and dim lighting.

It’s certainly a romantic dinner spot, but it’s equally good for cocktails in the handsome bar and lounge, such as the Passion Chili Whiskey Fizz, whose name sums up all the ingredients mixed with Tin Cup whiskey, a spicy bourbon-style from the Colorado Rockies. Later on, the lawn under the stars is the perfect quiet sipping spot. (1 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton)

If Topping Rose is where one might find stalwart fashion editors sipping a glass of champagne with their farm-to-table fish entrées, Jue Lan Club is where young entrepreneurs go for flashy Chinese fare and craft cocktails to pair. The glitzy art-focused hotspot hung with works from a roster of artists including Keith Haring and Mark Kostabi recalls equal parts the underground rebellion of its namesake secret group of artists in 1930s Shanghai and the Paris nightlife they escaped to from communist China.

Among the extensive list of cocktails, many Asian themed, the tequila-based Madame Adventurists packs a solid punch with Ancho Reyes chili liqueur, Szechuan peppers, and hibiscus and agave for a bit of sweetness. It pairs well with dim sum dinners and helps usher in nights spent at the Barn, the adjoining late-night club. Surely the original club would have approved of this sophisticated breed of modern mayhem. (268 Elm St., Southampton)

Owned by TOMS Hospitality—alongside such Manhattan fine-dining spots as Eleven Madison Park and NoMad—Highway Restaurant and Bar is the cheery, comfy neighborhood joint in the group’s high-flying portfolio. In lieu of marble bars and tasting menus are pillowed benches, a fireplace, and fresh baked goods like pie—a perfect year-round hideaway that was revamped last year to keep its look as fresh and clean as its farm-to-table fare.

Warm bowls of homemade pasta and a laid-back sense of privacy have attracted the likes of Jay-Z to this hideout, but equally appealing is its menu of craft cocktails that alone are worth a stop on the way to or from the beach. For something sweet and spicy, go for the Hot on the Highway, with spicy tequila and mezcal offset by the citrusy aromas of fresh-squeezed lime and Lillet. (290 Montauk Hwy., East Hampton)

Every summer, a new crop of restaurants opens in the Hamptons—some showered in praise, some likely to fall by the wayside by the time next summer rolls around. Among this year’s, here are our picks for the six not to miss.

In case you needed another reason to visit the Hamptons this summer, here it is: EMP Summer House. Chef-owner Daniel Humm is taking Eleven Madison Park—his Manhattan restaurant that earned the top spot on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list in April—and temporarily moving it to East Hampton this summer in the form of a pop-up that will be more casual (and less expensive) than its city-slicker self. In lieu of a $295 tasting menu are à la carte offerings like flatbreads, fluke ceviche, prawn salad with sorrel, bouillabaisse, and a wood-fired ribeye for two.

Set in a white-shingled house near Amagansett that used to house restaurant Moby’s, EMP comprises a charming dining area inside as well as tables outside, where groups are served seafood boils and fried chicken dinners ordered in advance. Reservations are open to American Express cardholders, while others can walk up, put a name on the list, and play ping pong and petanque on the back lawn while they wait. • An enormous wood-fired oven is the heart and soul of Sag Harbor’s new Lulu Kitchen & Bar—and a “sexy” one at that, according to its owners. From its fires come a colorful gravlax pizza with crème fraîche and frisée drizzled in a dill lemon oil; veggie dishes like roasted heirloom cauliflower tossed with tahini, grapes, and mint oil and roasted beets with pistachios, goat cheese, and pea shoots; and a set menu of weekly specials—veal chops on Fridays, Lobster Thermidor on Sundays.

Chef Phillippe Corbet, who’s cut his teeth at Michelin-starred restaurants, is taking Lulu’s as a chance to go back to basics, using live fire to give fresh farmhouse cuisine a robust, “primal” home-cooked flavor. Cushy leather chairs, old chandeliers and cloudy mirrors, exposed brick, and rustic wooden floors make Lulu’s feel like an old French country house, despite its trendy newness. (126 Main St., Sag Harbor)

After establishing branches of itself in Dallas and Atlanta, the Upper East Side’s power-lunch spot Le Bilboquet has opened fresh new digs on the dock in Sag Harbor. The French bistro will continue serving its signature fare—jumbo crab and avocado salad, steak frites, and its much-raved-about buttery Cajun poulet—along with fresh shellfish and seafood from a centerpiece crudo bar.

In the aforementioned cities, it’s known as a spot favored among celebrities and socialites for dinner parties—literally, dinners that turn into the kind of parties where bottles of wine are continually ordered throughout the night as the table’s conversation gets progressively more animated and fabulous. Here, it’s sure to be no different, with an impressive wine list and by-the-glass champagne to fuel sweet summer nights. Chic, sophisticated, and a little bit rowdy in turn, Le Bilboquet is sure to be a success among the Hamptons’ finest set this summer. (1 Long Wharf, Sag Harbor)

If scallops sautéed with sumac lemon and enoki mushrooms or a lobster roll with citrus emulsion and micro celery greens constitute “Traditional Beach Food”—as Harbor East’s menu claims to embody—it’s hard to say what modern beach food would look like. But that’s neither here nor there. The point being, this new restaurant from Australian hospitality veteran “Jamo” Willis is one of the most inviting new restaurants in the East End. Jamo has been known to personally welcome each diner who passes through the doors to try the menu of seasonal produce fashioned with Mediterranean influences for fare that offers innovative takes on the familiar.

Banana leaf textiles cover banquettes on the back patio, while the large black-and-white indoor space is filled with potted plants and skylights, with natural light flooding in during the day. At night, a disco ball hanging from the ceiling glistens while the DJ booth gets in action—a perfect excuse to grab a Roc-N-Rolla blood orange margarita or sweet mezcal-based Hippy Hippy Shake at the bar

and stick around for post-dinner dancing. (44 Three Mile Harbor Rd.)

Inspired by the ingredient-focused, family-style dining of Greece—the island of Mykonos, specifically—Water Mill’s new Calissa restaurant is arguably the best spot for group dining this summer. The focus is on slow meals that progress through the night (aided by a wine list of some 150 vintages, including Long Island’s largest selection of large format wine bottles).

The menu is designed for sharing, with local organics used in traditional Cycladian recipes: dips to start, like one of salt cod and Hudson Valley smoked roe blended together, followed by big platters of salt-baked whole Montauk bass, Kalamaki-style brisket with horseradish purée and coriander, and whole suckling pig or spring lamb that must be ordered a week in advance. Bocce ball out back and a lounge for dancing make for pre- and post-dinner entertainment, and perhaps a bit of needed exercise too after an extravagant meal. (1020 Montauk Hwy., Water Mill)

You’re up-and-running in the Hamptons this summer, and in a very spectacular spot no less. How has the reception been so far along Long Wharf?

Really great – people seem to love it and appreciate the décor and ambiance.

Le Bilboquet is the fourth restaurant at your address (including the short-lived Decker’s) in the past five years, and the scene at prior spots in your location saw as much in the way of bar and late fun crowds as it did for dining—do you plan to host any day or night parties, or is the game plan to provide a purely a food-minded experience?

Our goal is for every person to be happy and eat well at any of our locations. We will certainly host private parties and have already – but every day and night is a celebration at Le Bilboquet.

Can you give us a general description of your menu? We know French is the methodology in NYC, but so many Hamptons eateries lean harder toward seafood, especially with Montauk a direct source of oceanic eats. How much does that reflect or inspire your cooking in Sag?

Our menu has all of our signature recipes and we have added local seafood to the menu for our crudos, whole fish of the day and our raw seafood towers. The local ingredients are spectacular.

It’s time to play a couple rounds of “Perfect Plate, Paired.” Let’s pretend it’s late July, early August and the sun is sending locals for shade. You have a party of four sitting outside, despite the heat. What would you recommend they choose as an entrée, and which drink would be the right pairing?

I would suggest the Cold Poached Lobster with French mustard mayonnaise and frites with La Piscine – champagne on the rocks.

Now it’s early September, and the breezes off Sag Harbor Bay are getting a bit chilly during the late dinner hours. What Le Bilboquet dish and matched drink is good to ward off those end-of-season conditions?

Striped Bass with a red wine sauce and chilled glass of Far Niente white wine.

A final scenario: a couple comes in, and is clearly on a romantic adventure. They ask their server for something special—what would you put on their plate to make the date great? (And don’t forget the right drink to match!)

Chilled local oysters with Rosé wine followed by whole fresh local fish with sliced fresh artichokes.

Finally, for all of us who enjoy what Le Bilboquet does in Manhattan, we simply must know: did the Cajun Chicken make it to the Sag Harbor menu?

Yes of course! We sell dozens a day!

Now in its fifth year, Jill Zarin’s Luxury Luncheon has become a fête of fabulous proportions, one that could only be orchestrated by the former Real Housewives of New York star. Held at her home in Southampton, Camp Zarin, it’s an afternoon of endless food provided by Carlyle off the Green and samplings from New York Prime Beef, Antico Noè, and a colorful candy bar to boot. All of this is accompanied by Whispering Angel Rosé and craft cocktails from Empress 1908 Gin and Tito’s handmade vodka to sip on while shopping the exclusive designer trunk show after having your photo taken on the red carpet.

While finalizing plans for the big event, Jill found some time to share with us why this year has taken on a new, more personal meaning, give a few hints at the guest list, and shed some light on her time on Real Housewives.

JILL ZARIN Inside Her Luxury Luncheon for Thyroid Cancer Research

Tell us about Luxury Luncheon, how did the project first come about?

After I became a Real Housewife on Bravo, my life changed in so many amazing ways. One of them was being invited to some pretty spectacular events reserved for A list celebrities in the past. I remember going to the Jingle Ball Gifting suite at MSG and being gifted some of the most amazing products ever. It wasn’t just about how much the item was worth, but the exclusivity of it or the fact that no one had it yet.

I always felt a little guilty and that I didn’t do anything to deserve this special treatment so, I wanted to share it with my closest friends. To start, I began by contacting my favorite brands and asking them to contribute to my dream of making my closest friends receive the same special feeling I did at the gifting suite. Without hesitation, brands accepted my ask and so began my first annual luxury luncheon. At my first annual Jill Zarin’s Luxury Luncheon each woman that was special to me received a Golden Ticket that granted them access to a gifting suite, beauty services and even exclusive shopping at designer trunk shows to benefit charity at my home in the Hamptons.

Over the last two years my team and I have incorporated both ladies and men together and added lots of different activations that anyone can enjoy like the Iguana Yacht tours. Who wouldn’t love a luxurious tour of Shinnecock Bay aboard an amphibious watercraft? This year we’re topping the yachts with Schiller –Water Bikes that are built like road bicycles but actually float on the water with the help of pontoons!

Every year I think this is my last event, since I believe I can’t possibly top what happened the year prior. It’s not until my event planners Ticket2events hit me with new ideas to wow my guests, do I realize that we can do this again and hit it out of the park. I don’t want to ruin all the surprises coming this year, but I will tell first that you can expect NuFace to be there giving away five minute face-lifts, New York Prime Beef serving up Kobe Beef Steaks and even a giant unicorn in my pool from #floaty!

  • What is the one thing you wish guests would learn about the cause when attending?

To please be generous in their life. I did this to share everything I have with my friends and I believe in paying it forward.

What will be different this year compared to last year's event?

The biggest difference is that we are selling a limited amount of tickets to the public. This event is held in our home and was always reserved as an invitation only event for our friends and family, but this year we are raising money for thyroid cancer research, in honor of my husband Bobby who has thyroid cancer, and who is literally in the fight for his life every day. We want to raise as much money as possible so we’re allowing a small amount of tickets to be sold to the event.

Any special guests we can expect?

I like to think that every guest is special to me. If you mean to ask if you’ll be seeing any celebrities at the event then the answer is Y-E-S! The event has been honored to host some of the most fabulous women from the Hamptons to Orange County and even some special men too. Attendees over the years and who are always invited back are Christie Brinkley, Beth Stern, Luann D’Agastino, Aviva Dresher, Cynthia Bailey, Kelly

BenSimon, Lara Trump, Jonathan Cheban, Philip Bloch, Vicki Gunvalson, Chef David Burke, Chef Roblé, famed artist Domingo Zapata, Sarah Wynter, Andrea Canning, Patti Stanger, Vern Troyer and many more!

You were on a recent episode of the The Real Housewives of New York City, as a guest star. While dining with LuAnn and others and mentioned how you "miss the drama." Do you miss being on the show? Would you ever consider returning?

There are things that I miss and a few things I don’t. I admit I do like drama sometimes! Never say never, but I think my recent appearance on RHONY might have been my last appearance on the show.

Do you think the show has changed through the years, especially since you left? How so?

I think I will let the bloggers answer this one!

Do you regret anything that's ever happened on screen?

If I remembered what happened on screen I probably would regret things but I don’t hold onto things that long and I’ve been gone a while.

    What's next for Jill Zarin?

You’ll have to watch and see what happens!

( AND FACTS THAT SET THEM STRAIGHT )

    MYTHS ABOUT VARICOSE VEINS

After months of bundling up and staying inside, warm weather has finally arrived! And there’s nothing like dusting off your summer wardrobe to remind you that it’s the season for bare legs. Varicose veins are a common complaint during warm weather months, but when searching for answers, it’s easy to fall prey to myths and rumors. So, now is the perfect time to set the record straight on their causes and treatments.

Whether you’re looking for a cosmetic improvement or experiencing painful symptoms, the most important thing to do is find the best treatment option for your particular vein condition. The experts at NYU Langone’s Vein Center are at the forefront of the field, providing advanced treatment that is easier, less painful, and more convenient than ever.

MYTH #1 Crossing your legs causes varicose veins.

The logic may seem sound (crossing your legs can put a

“kink” in your veins), but that simply isn’t how the body works.

“Veins in the leg are protected by a sheath of rigid muscle,” says Dr. Mark Adelman, professor and chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at NYU Langone. This protects the veins from being compressed or kinked by typical leg movement. As a general rule, standing up and moving throughout the day is highly recommended. MYTH #2 Wearing high heels will give me varicose veins.

While noting that high heels probably aren’t the best for your back or feet, Dr. Adelman says they don’t cause varicose veins. But moderation is key: Consider saving those sky-high heels for special occasions. MYTH #3 Treatment for varicose veins is painful and leaves scars.

“Fifteen years ago, that was true,” says Dr. Lowell Kabnick,

director of NYU Langone’s Vein Center. “It’s not true now.” Modern, minimally invasive procedures are performed in the offce using local anesthesia and 2-millimeter incisions that do not require stitches. MYTH #4 Veins should not be treated unless they are painful.

Aside from their unappealing physical appearance, varicose veins can produce symptoms including throbbing, soreness, heaviness, and stiffness in the legs. But there is no need to wait for these symptoms to develop to have the veins treated. MYTH #5 Treatment by closing off veins will cause problems later in life.

Reading about treatments that collapse or close veins can raise a seemingly logical concern: But don’t I need all my veins? The deep veins (below the fascia) are the important ones. The truth is that the superficial veins, especially the damaged ones, are not necessary for normal circulation.

MYTH #6 Pregnancy causes varicose veins.

“There is no one single cause for varicose veins,” says Dr. Adelman.

“A combination of risk factors contributes to whether or not a person will develop varicose veins.” While pregnancy is certainly one of those factors due to the heavy burden it places on the body’s circulatory system, other factors, such as obesity, genetics, and work that requires being on your feet a lot, play crucial roles as well. MYTH #7 My insurance won’t pay for treatment because it’s cosmetic.

Make no mistake: Treating varicose veins isn’t just about cosmetics. Varicose veins can also cause pain and discomfort.

“If you are experiencing painful symptoms,” says Dr. Adelman,

“that is a real medical concern.” Of course, coverage is determined on a case-by-case basis, so patients should check with their doctor and insurance company prior to treatment.
