SummEr EnCorE, the latest show at William Reaves Fine Art, is a cool summer exhibition meriting special attention of fans and patrons of the city’s exclusive space for Lone Star art. In this survey exhibition, the gallery offers a second showing of strong works which somehow managed to escape the grasp of savvy Texas collectors during its past exhibitions.

Regulars of the gallery will know that the recently concluded season proved to be a lively and prosperous one at William Reaves Fine Art’s distinctive Houston art space. Collectors eagerly swooped up grand examples of Texas art – early, modern and contemporary – presented in the gallery’s series of seven sterling exhibitions! Yet, in the midst of all the excitement, a number of exceptional works seem to have inadvertently “fallen through the cracks,” inexplicably overlooked in the frenetic pace of exhibition activity. Devoted gallerists that they are, the Reaves team is not one to allow significant works to effectively remain “on the table” after season’s end, and in this new exhibition the gallery offers a pleasing remedy, giving a second look at works worthy of serious reconsideration.

SUMMER ENCORE offers a over 30 marvelous Texas gems, all of differing periods and styles, yet guaranteed to be excellent “of kind” and warranting further consideration by serious Texas collectors. The show runs Saturday, July 26 through Saturday, August 24, 2013.

Texas fare which regulars have become accustomed to, and provides an entertaining summer art experience well worth the time. This exhibition offers astute collectors the chance to rediscover this set of excellent paintings, and the Reaves crew is betting that many will become perfect additions to the state’s growing number of fine Texas collections. ALSO… Take advantage of the gallery’s summer inventory survey for great art bargains! It’s that time of year again when the gallery has to double-check inventory. Over the next month, WRFA staff will be pulling inventory from the storage racks and out onto the floor to get everything back in order for a new fall season. For staff, it’s a lot of hard work, but for collectors it offers a special, one-of-kind opportunities to browse the stacks in search of hidden treasures from the back rooms and make some great deals on art purchases. So while we beg your indulgence for our temporary “mess.” While everything’s out on the floor, we invite you to come in and rummage through to find wonderful Texas works, many at extraordinary summer prices.
