UNILEVER PRESENTS: AXE “Back To School” DeCA Only Giveaway

Unilever and Advantage Sales are proud to announce the AXE “Back to School” giveaway, which will run during promotional period #15. Both Unilever and Advantage are committed to rewarding DeCA patrons and have developed an exciting giveaway program. From July 16th through August 31st, DeCA patrons worldwide will have the opportunity to enter to win many exciting prizes, including DeCA gift certificates, Apple MacBooks, Apple Ipads, and Apple Ipods.

Stores are strongly encouraged to display AXE shower gel, AXE deodorant, and AXE hair care products, throughout the promotional period. Each store will be provided with in-store “Back to School” themed point of sale marketing materials to aid in merchandising this outstanding event.

In total, Unilever will reward winning patrons with over 90 prizes valued at more than $24,000. Patrons can enter from July 16th through August 31st. The winners will be selected on or about September 30th, 2014.

KRAFT FOODS INTRODUCES: “KRAFT BACK TO SCHOOL BACK PACK SAVINGS”

To drive “Back to School” (BTS) sales, Kraft Foods is offering a back pack give away incentive filled with BTS essentials ($65 value per backpack), for all participating stores for their winning patrons. Participating stores will receive back packs that local Kraft personnel will give away at store level during the promotional time period. During DP14 (7/24-8/6), DP15 (8/7-8/20), and DP16 (8/21 – 9/10), Kraft will offer Pallet Mods, Shippers, Managers Specials, and Power Buys on the following seasonal favorites and more: Mac N Cheese, Grey Poupon, Ready To Serve Bacon, Mio & Crystal Light, Velveeta Shells & Cheese/Kraft Deluxe Dinners, A1 Kraft Singles, and Oscar Mayer brands. This event will be the highlight of the period driving in-store excitement and creativity.

Kraft Foods will be working with DeCA on providing promotional display quantities for K3-K5 stores for “Back to School” display periods.

K3–K5 stores will receive back pack giveaway incentives, in addition to (21) valuable coupon offers included in the BTS Joint Industry Booklet.

The “Back to School” promotion is a high consumption time frame for the participating Kraft Brands maximizing Managers Specials, Power Buys and OTB’s with hot pricing and high value coupons that will drive additional sales.

Shop Your Commissary 2 Save 4 Back 2 SchoolJoint Industry Program

August -- DP 14 - 15

DeCA commissaries will be THE place to stock up on “Back-to-School” essentials! The following partners - Kraft Foods, General Mills, Kid Cuisine, Heinz, Nestle, Quaker Oats, Gatorade, Nesquik, White Castle, Purex, Chapstick, Palermo’s Pizza, Emergen-C, NIVEA and Renuzit - will provide patrons with a 16-page booklet with money saving coupons, family meal favorites and “Back-to-School” necessities. The booklet will also include recipes for breakfast, lunchbox, dinner, and snack ideas.

“Coupon Take One” will also offer an exciting giveaway to commissary shoppers! Two hundered (200) schools will be selected to win prizes! Patrons will be asked to simply mail in their school of choice to be included in a random drawing.

Point of sale material for displays will be available to include a 5-foot coupon dispenser to hold the take-one booklets. These dispensers will be placed throughout the stores to include front/entry, produce, meat and refrigerated/frozen areas, allowing patrons to shop the entire store. Posters will be placed at the front of the stores highlighting the event and the special coupon savings.

Advertising support will include reaching patrons up to 30 miles outside of the bases in large markets. This will drive awareness of the high value savings book only available in DeCA commissaries, encouraging foot traffic into the stores. Additional advertising support will include banner ads and social media with targeted military websites starting two weeks before the in-store event.

Kellogg’s Back to SchoolDeCA Scholarship Donation

Kellogg’s “Fuel for School” will make mom a hero by delivering the brands her kids are looking for during breakfast and snacking while providing a great value for her family budget. During the month of August, Kellogg’s will focus on getting military families ready for “Back to School”.

“Fuel for School” will offer value through price, cross category coupons and a free milk offer. Stores will have themed point of sale material available to create impressive displays. On pack promotions for free scholastic books and cash prizes when Kellogg’s products are purchased, will create a buzz with moms and the kids. Military specific coupons and product demonstrations will be available as well. The Kellogg’s Company will also support this program with television advertising, social media and high value national ad/flyers.

Kellogg’s will also partner with DeCA to bring hope, optimism and possibilities to military families by donating to the DeCA Scholarship Fund. The Kellogg’s Company will donate $.05 per box for every published Kellogg’s or Keebler item in DP14 and DP15 that is purchased from August 1 – August 31, 2014 up to $50,000. During Promotional Periods #14 and #15, General Mills will be celebrating the power of “Box Tops for Education”; the #1 school fundraising program in the United States. Parents are frequently pressured to participate in school fundraisers,

many of which require them to spend unbudgeted money on things they do not need or cannot afford. “Box Tops for Education” is a simple and accessible way to earn prizes for schools.

Each box top collected is worth 10 cents. Many popular General Mills items will be carrying two box tops ($.20) during the month of August. Also, high value coupons, product demonstrations and free point of sale material will be available to support the program.

General Mills will also sponsor a display contest. Stores will have an opportunity to win additional box tops to donate to a school of their choice. See your local General Mills sales representative for more details. Winners will be announced by December, 2014.

OVERSEAS SERVICE CORPORATION: BACK TO SCHOOL THEME EVENT

August 2014

Overseas Service Corporation (OSC) and their manufacturer partners are proud to present their 8th Annual Back to School Multiband Theme Event. The program features a “Coupon Connection” flyer as well as posters, corrugated themed base wrap and themed banners for the larger stores.

Overseas Service Corporation and a variety of participating manufacturers will sponsor a display contest with commissary gift checks awarded to the best display in each DeCA sales band in CONUS (Sales Bands 12, 13 & 14 will be combined), and two in OCONUS (1 for the Far East and 1 for Europe). Size and creativity will determine winning displays. A total of $5000 will be divided equally among participating 12 CONUS sales bands, Europe and the Far East.

A donation to the DeCA scholarship fund will be made on behalf of Overseas Service Corporation and our participating manufacturers. Your local OSC sales representative will contact you with additional details.

CHILI’S NATIONAL ROLL OUTPROMOTIONAL PERIODS DP #15, #16, AND #17

Chili’s will be igniting the frozen food category! Introducing new Chili’s frozen entrées, appetizers and snacks. With an astounding 95% brand awareness, Chili’s is sure to reinvigorate the slow moving frozen food category. This national roll-out is supported with $40 million in marketing funds and leverages Chili’s annual marketing spend of approximately $105 million. Six single serve items and four multi serve items have been added to the commissaries for DP #15, #16, and #17 at outstanding prices. Product is to be merchandised on refrigerated end caps for these periods and will be supported with product demonstrations and great point of sale material.
