National Emergency Grant (NEG) Flood & Wind Programs

• National Emergency Grant (NEG) funds to help recover from 2011 Spring flooding, and June 2012 Wind Storm

• Program managed by Gallia Co. Economic Development & administered by Gallia Co. Dept of Job & Family Services

• NEG Flood Program – September 2011-Dec. 2013• NEG Wind Program – September 2012-Present• Comprehensive Workforce Development Program

– 10 & 30 hour OSHA Certification– Natural Resource Preservation & Wildlife Management Training– CPR– First Aid– Equipment Use & Safety Training

• Areas cleaned as part of the program include: Raccoon Creek, Campaign Creek, Swan Creek, Indian-Guyan Creek, Deer Creek, Rock Lick Creek, Little Bullskin, Little Kyger, and Chickamauga Creek, and Symmes Creek.

• Over $3.8M combined payroll earnings from September 2011- present– NEG Flood Program – September 2011-Dec. 2013

• Payroll: over $2.7M – NEG Wind Program – September 2012-Present

• Payroll: over $1.1M

• Over 140 currently employed through the program• Over 750 individuals have participated on the programs.

Gallia County Commissioners & NEG Program was recognized by Gallia County Soil & Water with the 2013 Distinguished Service Award
