If you were to become a very successful mechanical engineer in the future, what are the
attributes that you think you should have? What will you contribute to both the
engineering field and human society?
First attitude that must have to the engineer is have advanced and internationally
recognized skills, understanding and knowledge (scientific knowledge, problem solving skills, ITskills, analytical skills, in-depth technical competence, communication skills and flexibility)
necessary for a successful career in Aerospace, Automotive Mechanical, Mechatronic, Sports,
or Sustainable Energy Engineering. Have the ability to locate, analyses evaluate and synthesis
information from a wide variety of sources in a planned and timely manner.
Next, engineer must can contribute as effective members of multi-disciplinary andmulti-cultural teams with the capacity to be a leader or manager as well as an effective teammember with skills of a high order in interpersonal understanding, teamwork andcommunication. Have a commitment to continuous learning and the capacity to maintainintellectual curiosity throughout life and are able, by self directed study, to remain up to date
with developments in their profession. Have an ability to apply effective, creative andinnovative solutions, both independently and cooperatively, to current and future problemsand are able to guide developments in the profession.
Engineer also must understand the context in which they work (economics, finance, teamwork, competition) while remaining committed to the highest standard of professionalendeavor, not losing sight of the need for technical excellence and environmentalresponsibility. Can communicate with government and the community on engineering issues.
Are educated in a broad sense, are socially, environmentally, ethically and professionallyresponsible, understand the need for and the principles of sustainable development, are wellinformed and have an ability to take a leadership role their place as leaders in thecommunity.
Finally, are familiar with current best practice in aerospace, mechanical or mechatronicengineering. Are capable of synthesizing fundamental engineering science and engineeringpractice in the creation of engineering systems and have the ability to utilize a systemsapproach to design and operational.

If I become a successful mechanical engineer in the future, I think I would like to change
the car in the world to become solar car not us petroleum and NGV(natural gas vehicle) like
present day any more. This can save our earth from pollution and save the petroleum from it
use until end. Furthermore solar energy is easy to get and it friendly with the environment. So
this is my reasons about solar car.
A solar car is an electric vehicle powered by solar electricity. This is obtained from solar
panels on the surface (generally, the top or window) of the vehicle or using a solar
jacket in electric bicycles. Photovoltaic (PV) cells convert the sun's energy directly into electrical
energy. Solar car are not sold as practical day-to-day transportation devices at present, but are
primarily demonstration vehicles and engineering exercises, often sponsored by government
agencies. However indirectly solar-charged vehicles are widespread and solar boats are
available commercially.
The Venturi Astrolab in 2006 was hailed as the world's first commercial electro-solar
hybrid car, and it was originally due to be released in January 2008. In May 2007 a partnershipof Canadian companies lead by Hymotion altered a Toyota Prius to use solar cells to generate
up to 240 watts of electrical power in full sunshine.
While sunlight can provide a free clean source of energy, the creation of PV cells to
capture that sunlight is expensive. In 2003, it was found that energy would cost $.30/kWh which
is more than double that of residential electricity. These costs have dropped recently with Solar
Panel costs coming down further and the reliability of the cells have much improved with thin
film technology. The cost of Energy will depend on the place of operation as solar radiation
differs from place to place. Even though sunlight has no lifespan, PV cells do. The lifetime of a
solar module is approximately 30 years. Standard photovoltaic’s often come with a warranty of
90 % (from nominal power) after 10 years and 80 % after 25 years. However, in automotive
purposes they need to be sealed well if meant to operate efficiently for decades in all weather
conditions.
From this reason I think it should to be the car in this world become solar car. Solar-
powered cars convert solar radiation, a free renewable resource, to electrical power to run the
vehicle so you don't have to pay for petroleum each time you need to fill up. Since the car uses
solar power, it does not release the same pollutants as petroleum-powered cars, such as
carbon dioxide, which contributes to global warming, and sulfur oxides, which contribute to acid
rain. The electric motor used in solar cars is quieter and more energy efficient than gasoline
motors. So as the conclusion the solar car have give more benefits to human kind in this world.
