• We are pressured to conform
• Children and teenagers are more prone to conform.
• Conformity is needed - services and service personnel
• You are not like us = you are wrong
• But, if you are not prepared to be wrong, you are not likely to
come up with anything original
• Being different for the sake of being different = Negative
Competition = race to the bottom!

Diversity and TestingDiversity and Testing
The impact of diversity on testing

• Increases creativity and problem solving
• Increases the value of the test team
• Creates a satisfied diverse customer base
• Enhances communication skills
“If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.”

• Affect not only the organizations’ people and operations internally but
also their customers, suppliers, and other external stakeholders
• Globalization, and the changing faces—in terms of language, culture, and
religion—of both customers and workers will represent an even more
diverse mix
• People living longer and retiring later, resulted in distinct
generations working side by side—each with its own mind-set, work
habits, technology attitudes, and customs
Sahar Andrade – saharconsulting’s Blog…….
Assuming that every member of a
particular gender, race, or ethnicity
does things in the same way or
assuming that a certain group doesn't
possess particular skills or can't do
certain jobs. Assuming such things are
bad enough, practicing them is
against the law.
