Subsea Manual UT System This system is comprised of aTopside Module, consisting of a fully integrated ultrasonic digital flaw detector, connected via a 250m umbilical to a Slave Subsea Module. A split screen facility is provided for on theTopside Module, for both video and ultrasonic display, which is then interfaced to the diver’s slave subsea UT system. The compact system provides state of the art user interface and control facilities with the subsea unit housed in a lightweight ruggedized base. The system permits real-time video recording with remote monitor viewing. Sonomatic has offices in strategic global locations so we can respond quickly to customersʼ requirements wherever they may be situated. highand380mmindiameter (includinghandle
ring)andweighing14kg inair, theDigital Flaw
Detector is easilydeployedandoperatedby the
diver.
Thescreenhasaclearvisionareaof160mmx
100mm.Thediverhasonlya singlecontrol
function tooperatewhich is thegaincontrol for
indication investigation.
Allpower to thesubseaunit isprovided fromthe
surfaceunit. Probescanbechangedsub-seaas
bothunit andprobesare fittedwith thewell-
proven EOSubseaConnectors.TheSubseaPod’s
workingvoltage is24V.
TopsideModule
TheTopsideModule is supplied ina rugged,dust-
proof case.Only twocablesare terminatedonthe
frontof theunit, thesebeing themainspower
sourceandumbilical.
Inside thecase, thecontrolshavebeendesigned
tobesimple touse.Themainscreen is in the lidof
thecasewith thedigital flawdetector screen in
themainbody.Controls are themainon/off
switch, single/twincrystal selection, various
terminations for computerorVCRconnections
anda remotecontrol for themainscreenmenus.
TheTopsideModuleweighs12kg.

Umbilical
TheUmbilical is 250min lengthandsupplies
power to theSubseaUnit aswell as receiving
signals fromtheworksite. It is suppliedonasmall
hand-cranked reel.
TheReel andUmbilicalweigh75kg.
