She worked in the art department and we quickly became fast friends, as we had much in common – coming from artistic families and enjoying food and wine. Our friendship blossomed into a romance and we were married; Eleanor giving me the greatest creative gift possible, children. We moved to San Francisco to raise our new family, and dreamed of having a small country house in the Napa valley with a few acres of grapes. Unexpectedly we found ourselves the owner of a large and beautiful wine estate. We’ve lived on the property with our family ever since, and our love of the land and of winemaking grew beyond our expectations, into wineries in both Napa and Sonoma valleys. Eleanor has always been a true partner in all my endeavors, bringing her creativity, honesty and generous spirit to it all – she’s wife, mother, artist, filmmaker – collaborator and inspiration. For all this and more, after fifty years of marriage, I want to honor her with ‘Eleanor’ her own wine.” —Francis Coppola A Note from Eleanor Coppola Our family treasures traditions. Her father, the king, decreed that his chefs should create wonderful delicacies for her— but that she must always have something new. The penalty was death if they ever repeated the same dish twice. Thus, the tradition of Dim Sum was born.” The fruit selections we grow for our Su Yuen Syrah produce a medium-bodied red wine that has rich fruit character, hints of spice, and very little tannin.Try it with barbecued chicken pizza, burgers topped with bleu cheese, garlic pork, glazed spare ribs, cedar plank salmon, Asian dumplings... or else! Blend: 65% Merlot, 35% Syrah Director’s Merlot 2010…$21 The movie Sideways is still often credited for giving Merlot a bad rap, but that’s just because the protagonists hadn’t yet tasted our 2010 Director’s version. This scrumptious Merlot is sourced from vineyards just at the edge of the fog line, which offer intense fruit flavors and create a perfectly balanced wine, expressive on the palate and long on the finish. Our Director’s Merlot 2010 delivers luscious notes of berry jam, black cherries and plums interwoven with allspice, mocha and toasted oak. The vintage is reflected in the wine’s density, sweet core of fruit, length and velvety texture. Enjoy it with brisket, roast duck, or savory rice pilaf and you’ll have to agree; Miles just doesn’t know what he’s been missing. Blend: 90% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, 4% Petite Sirah Barrel Regimen: 11 months; 70% French oak, 30% American oak; 25% new oak Su Yuen Riesling 2010$12 Riesling is a varietal that is so subtle and delicate, we don’t put it in barrels because the oak would mask the vibrant fruit and mineral characteristics this grape is famous for. Our 2010 Riesling offers aromas of passion fruit, tangerine and minerals followed by flavors of peaches, pineapple, and lime. This wine is juicy yet crisp, with a perfect balance of rich fruit and bright natural acidity. Fantastic with smoked ham, scallops in curry sauce, barbecued spareribs, bacon and Gruyere tart, Pad Thai and spicy shrimp… a feast fit for Kings - and finicky princesses! Blend: 100% Riesling After 5 years of renovations, Francis Coppola has unveiled his grand hotel, a 19th-century palazzo in his family’s Italian hometown of Bernalda, Italy. Located in the province of Matera, which is famous for ancient cave dwellings, historic houses and unspoiled villages, Bernalda is just twenty minutes from numerous pristine, white-sand beaches. Eleanor 2009…$45

Similar to Australia’s famed Penfold’s Grange, Eleanor Red Wine is a dark, rich, powerful Syrah-Cabernet blend made from fruit grown on Coppola’s two estates. By combining Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grown in Rutherford on the Inglenook property

with Syrah and Cabernet selections grown at the Francis Ford Coppola Winery in Sonoma’s Alexander Valley, we are able to create a wine that is very long lived with exceptional depth and complexity.

Boasting a deep, saturated color and intense bouquet of black sour cherry, cola, mocha, and vanilla-laden oak, the palate explodes with rich, concentrated flavors of blackberry, boysenberry and cassis layered upon exotic notes of anise and minerals that build and broaden on a long, spicy finish.

Blend: 54% Syrah: 36% Dry Creek Valley, 18% Rutherford, 46% Cabernet Sauvignon: 36% Alexander Valley, 10% RutherfordBarrel Regimen: 24 months in French oak

Diamond Collection Claret 2010…$21Claret is a term that was originally coined by the British to describe Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines such as Bordeaux, or those made in a similar style. Our Claret bottle is distinguished with gold netting in order to convey its prestigious status, a tribute to the way Europe’s finest wines were once presented.

The fruit in our Claret has beautifully concentrated flavors that become layered, creating a textural wine with dark, rich fruit, supple tannins and distinct spice notes that enhance the oak barrel character. This consistently delicious blend is a perennial favorite among Coppola wine lovers far and wide, which has become its own long-standing tradition. You’ll want to make it one of your own when you serve it with steaks the next time your relatives are in town, guaranteed!

Blend: 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc Barrel Regimen: 11 months in French oak

Diamond Collection Pavilion 2010…$20

Without a doubt, Pavilions figure is big in Coppola lore. Like the opening scene of Godfather II where a family christening takes place, and the re-creation of that same scene at our own winery Pavilion, where children paint and musicians entertain. Then there’s our 2010 Diamond Pavilion, a delicious blend of Chardonnay and Viognier grapes, which is a story unto itself.

We whole-cluster press our Chardonnay, then induce malolactic fermentation in order to heighten the rich, creamy texture of the wine. Our Viognier is finished in stainless steel to preserve the varietal’s intense fragrance, silky texture, and juicy tropical fruit flavors. The wines are then blended, with a majority placed in a combination of new and used French oak. Lush and fragrant, Pavilion pairs beautifully with foods such as swordfish with mango salsa, ham and Gruyere tart or spicy Asian noodle dishes.

Blend: 97% Chardonnay, 3% Viognier Barrel Regimen: 10 months French oak

Archimedes 2008…$58

If you want to impress someone special with your intelligence, good looks and superb taste, we highly recommend pulling out of bottle of our Archimedes. Archimedes was the Greek mathematician who discovered the law of hydrostatics. He was one brainy guy, even by today’s standards, and greatly admired by Francis Coppola’s grandfather Augusto. Although it had been a family tradition to name the eldest son after his father, Augusto insisted his first son be named Archimedes instead. Today, we pay homage to Coppola’s uncle Archimedes who loved math and mechanics, just as his namesake did.

This wine offers ripe, supple tannins with lovely weight and balance. Aromas of raspberries, currants, and violets is followed by amazing flavors, including cherries, cassis and blackberry liqueur.

Blend: 99.6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 0.4% Cabernet Franc Barrel Regimen: 21 months in French oak; 50% new, 50% 1-2 years old

Director’s Cut Pinot Noir 2009…$27

Our Pinot Noir pairs with poultry, pizza, pork, pasta, pears – and is pleasant all by itself! The ideal vintage conditions of 2009 have bestowed upon us a Pinot Noir of exceptional flavor and density. Velvety in texture and profusely aromatic, this Sonoma Coast wine offers aromas of berries, tea leaves and rose petals, and flavors of raspberries, cherries, and pomegranate.

Blend: 100% Pinot Noir Barrel Regimen: 18 months in French oak; 50% new, 50% 1 to 2 years old

Director’s Cut Cabernet Sauvignon 2010…$29

This classic cab is certain to be the belle (or beau) of your backyard barbecues all summer long. Rich and saturated, our 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon has an elegant structure, moderate tannins, layered fruit and a long, aromatic finish. You’ll pick up flavors of berries, and black cherries with distinctive coffee bean nuances and toasted oak. Perfectly enjoyable now, but a cellaring period will also prove rewarding. Pour it alongside some grilled burgers topped with bleu cheese and we think you’ll agree; the livin’ is easy.

Blend: 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc Barrel Regimen: 12 months in French oak, 50% new, 50% 1-2 years old

Diamond Collection Pinot Noir 2010…$21

You know that ‘bursting with pride’ feeling you get when you find out your child’s exhibit won first place at the school science fair? That sense knowing she was great, but now the world knows too? That’s exactly how we are about our 2010 Diamond Pinot Noir – which brought home a gold medal from the 2012 San Francisco Wine Competition – ahem, the LARGEST domestic wine contest in the U.S! Need we say more? When you try it - you’ll experience a silky texture, beautiful bouquet, and dark juicy fruit impressions with aromas of raspberries, rose petals and tea leaves and flavors of plums, strawberries and allspice. It pairs perfectly with pork tenderloin and cherries, barbecued salmon or stuffed Portobello mushrooms … definitely a winner!

Blend: 100% Pinot Noir Barrel Regimen: 11 months in French oak

“This is a favorite from my mother, Italia Penino Coppola. We’d have Sunday

dinner all together at 4:00 in the afternoon and if I was lucky, she’d serve this.

Thinly sliced beef rolled with many ingredients and tied with a string.

There are many ways of making braciole and this is the Neapolitan style because

beautiful to see and incredible to eat as we did on Sundays,

Nothing says “la familia” quite like a bottle of our Sofia Blanc de

Our 2011 Sofia Blanc de Blancs has aromatic notes of citrus,

green apples and apricots, along with bright, effervescent flavors
