    Exhibition Estimated Timeline - Student Version

    Transdisciplinary Theme: Sharing the planet

    An inquiry into rights and responsibilities in the struggle to share finite resources with other people and with

    other living things; communities and the relationships within and between them; access to equal

    opportunities; peace and conflict resolution.

    - Tuning in- Parent/Student orientationmeeting

    Looking at unit books, pamphlets etc. on topical issues.Breaking down transdisciplinary theme.

    14th - 18thMarch

    - Front loading- Reading- S.M.A.R.T- SNAP- Central idea- Explicit teaching- Forming groups- Build on bank of issues andactions

    By the end of week one, we will be aware of what thetransdisciplinary theme is and will have developed ourcentral idea. SMART action brainstorming of issues. Build upa bank of topical issues.

    21st - 25thMarch

    - Logo- Intro booklet- Mission statements, guidelines- Contact mentors- Research questions- Develop lines of inquiry

    By the end of week two, agreed upon a central idea,formed groups. Gone through the booklet and written groupmission statement and guidelines. Developed researchquestions based on the PYP concepts and chosen whichquestions we will focus our research on. Developed lines ofinquiry. Will have arranged first mentor meeting for nextweek.

    28 -1st April

    - PTC- Primary research based onresearch questions

    - 1st mentor meeting

    Accessed the library and researched chosen lines of inquiry.By the end of this week all research will have beenrecorded on group Wikis. We will have had our first mentor

    meeting and will have recorded minutes from this meeting.4th -8th April

    - Solution research- Action ideas and research- Secondary research based onfield trips, interviews,questionnaires

    By the end of this week; researched, discussed andpinpointed solutions for problem. If possible have some ideasof SMART action to take.

    11th - 15thApril

    - Planning for action By the end of this week we will have chosen their SMARTaction and created an action plan ready to be implementednext week.

    18th - 21stApril

    - Taking action This week we are implementing our chosen SMART action.

    Break

    2nd -6th May

    - Taking action- Design presentation- Making video

    By the end of the week we will have made a short video1-2mins describing what we chose and why. We will havecreated a plan for the exhibition presentation for next week.We may be continuing to implement our SMART action.

    9th -13th May

    - Prepare presentation- Use a variety of methods- Make it interactive?

    We will prepare their presentation for the exhibition on the12th and 13th of May.

    your group is clearly behind schedule you must let us know! Feel free to take action sooner if youhave checked with a teacher or mentor.
