STUDENT DRESS CODE A student’s conduct is related to their clothing. Therefore, the school is directly concerned with students’ clothing. The appropriateness of a student’s clothing for the school environment should dictate the choice of clothing and grooming practices on each given day.

Some campuses have implemented a uniform requirement pursuant to AISD Board policy FNCA (Local). Parents and students should check with the campus to confirm whether uniforms are required. You may obtain a copy of AISD Board policy FNCA(Local) from a campus administrator or review it on the internet at www.aisd.net/board and click on Board Policy.

All students are expected to adhere to common practices of modesty, cleanliness and neatness; to dress in a respectful manner within the acceptable standards of the community and in such a manner as to contribute to the academic atmosphere, not detract from it. Students who fail to comply with this dress code may be sent home and may be subject to corrective actions.

Any clothing, accessories, symbols, jewelry or other paraphernalia, which depicts or suggests association with a gang, secret society or fraternity, shall not be brought to school, worn at school or in any way be present at any school-sponsored event.

Any other considerations will be determined by the individual school administrators. The school administration shall have the right to consider any current fashion to determine its acceptability for school wear.

Clarification regarding apparel should be obtained prior to wearing it to school; this can be obtained from the school administration. Students in violation of this policy will be subject to corrective action as determined by the school’s administration.

Teachers are charged with the responsibility of enforcing student dress code in their classes as well as on campus. Administrators and other school personnel share the same responsibility. Teachers shall follow building procedure for discipline referral regarding dress code violations.

No attempt will be made to dictate fashion styles as long as they are in keeping with district policies. It should be noted, however, that it is the responsibility of the student and parent that the student adhere to the dress code, as follows:

1. General

A. Any clothing, jewelry or accessories with decorations, patches, lettering advertisements, etc. that may be considered obscene or offensive are not to be worn to school. This includes any clothing, jewelry or accessories having criminal street gang identifiers, accessories that may be used as weapons, and accessories having drug, sex, tobacco, or alcoholic beverage references or designs.

B. Form fitting garments such as Spandex or leggings may only be worn with another layer of clothing that meets the dress code.

2. Shirts and Blouses

A. Crop tops, tube tops, halters and spaghetti straps are unacceptable. (Anything less than two inches is considered a spaghetti strap.)

B. The display of cleavage is unacceptable. Low cut blouses, tops, sweaters, etc. with plunging necklines are not allowed.

C. Transparent and/or see-through material is considered unacceptable, unless worn over another article of clothing that meets dress code.

D. Shirts/tops must touch the waist of pants/skirts at all times (i.e., when in movement, when arms are extended or raised, and when in seated position, etc.)

E. All jerseys must be worn with an undergarment that covers the torso and chest area.

3. Dresses, Skirts, Skorts

A. The length of a skirt/dress/skort must be a minimum of half the distance between the fingertips and the top of the knee when the student’s hand is fully extended down the side of the student’s leg.

B. When measuring skirts, dresses or skorts that have slits, the length will be determined by measuring from the top of the slit.

C. Strapless dresses without jackets are unacceptable. 4. Shorts

The minimum length of shorts must be no shorter than the tip of the longest finger with student’s hand fully extended down the side of the student’s leg.

5. Pants

A. Torn, cut/slashed or frayed material that reveals any area of skin or undergarment above the knee is considered

inappropriate.

B. No pajama bottoms, sleepwear or lounge wear.

6. Sagging Pants

Students shall wear their trousers or overalls properly at the waist. No sagging.

7. Accessories

A. All students must wear shoes at all times, house shoes and slippers are prohibited. Students participating in physical education class shall wear athletic footwear that is closed at the toe and heel and must be laced and/or velcroed to participate. Sliders are prohibited.

B. Hair should be kept neat, clean and reasonably styled.

C. Any type of head covering is unacceptable.

D. Religious and medical exceptions must be cleared by the principal.

E. Proper undergarments should be worn but not visible.

F. Chains or spiked jewelry are unacceptable.

G. Campus Administration will determine the appropriateness of all piercings, gauging, and mouth “grillz” for school.

8. Identification Badges

All high school and junior high school students shall wear their AISD-issued student identification badges or temporary badges at all times while on a school campus or attending a school-related extracurricular activity. Badges must be visible to AISD employees at all times. Badges cannot be worn underneath clothing and cannot be carried in a student’s pocket, backpack, bag, purse, etc.

Any AISD campus that desires to implement a variance from the above listed ID policy must seek written approval by submitting a written request to the Office of Student Behavioral Support Systems.

CÓDIGO DE VESTIMENTA DEL ALUMNADO La conducta de un alumno está relacionada directamente con su manera de vestir. Por lo tanto, la escuela se preocupa directamente con el asunto del vestuario del alumnado. El vestuario apropiado del alumno dentro del ambiente escolar debe dictar la selección de la ropa y las prácticas del aseo diario.

Ciertos planteles han puesto en práctica el requisito de uniformar al alumnado, apegándose a la política FNCA (Local) de la Mesa Directiva del Distrito Escolar de Arlington. Tanto los padres de familia, como el alumnado en general deberá consultarlo en el plantel, y confirmar así si es necesario vestir con uniforme. Es de esperarse que todos los alumnos se apeguen a las costumbres comunes de modestia, limpieza y aseo; que vistan de una manera respetuosa conforme a las normas aceptadas por la comunidad y de una manera que puedan contribuir al ambiente académico y no retraerse del mismo. Los alumnos que no logren cumplir con lo establecido en este código podrán ser devueltos a su casa y podrán quedar sujetos a acciones correctivas.

Cualquier ropa, accesorio, símbolo, alhaja, u otro artículo relativo que demuestre o sugiera la asociación con una pandilla, sociedad secreta, o fraternidad no se deberá traerse a la escuela, usarse en la escuela, o de cualquier manera estar presente en eventos auspiciados por la escuela.

Cualesquiera otras consideraciones serán determinadas individualmente por los administradores de la escuela. La administración de la escuela tendrá el derecho a evaluar o tomar en consideración cualquier moda de actualidad, para determinar su aceptación y su uso en la escuela.

Es necesario recibir la aprobación correspondiente sobre la ropa a usarse en la escuela antes de usarla en la escuela; esta aprobación podrá obtenerse a través de la administración escolar. Los alumnos que infrinjan esta política estarán sujetos a acciones correctivas, según sean determinadas por la administración de la escuela.

Los maestros tienen la responsabilidad de hacer cumplir los reglamentos del vestuario del alumnado en sus propios salones de clase, así como también en el plantel escolar en general. Los administradores y el resto del personal escolar comparten la misma responsabilidad. Los maestros seguirán los procedimientos pertinentes al interior del plantel, con respecto a las infracciones al código de vestuario y canalizaciones por faltas a la disciplina.

El distrito no intentará hacer nada por dictar los estilos de moda, siempre y cuando estos estilos estén dentro de las políticas dictadas por el distrito. Sin embargo, es importante hacer notar que queda bajo la responsabilidad de los padres así como de los alumnos que se apeguen al código de vestuario, como se detalla a continuación:

1. Generalidades

A. No podrá vestirse en la escuela con cualquier prenda de vestir, alhaja o accesorio con decoraciones, parches, letras impresas, anuncios publicitarios, etc., que pudiesen considerarse como obscenos u ofensivos. Esto incluye cualquier prenda de vestir, alhaja, o accesorio que contenga identificaciones criminales de alguna pandilla (gang) o la calle de alguna pandilla, o accesorio que pueda usarse como un arma, accesorios con emblemas sexuales, que hagan referencia o con algún diseño de alguna droga, un producto tabacalero, o bebidas alcohólicas.

B. No se aceptará el uso de pantalones ceñidos al cuerpo o mallas, hechos de un material como “Spandex”, salvo que se usen con otro tipo de vestuario que cumpla con el código de vestuario.

2. Camisas y Blusas

A. Se consideran inaceptables las crop tops o camisetas ombligueras, tube tops o camisetas de tubo, strapless, que se aten al cuello y con tirantes “espagueti” (cualquier tirante con una medida menor a dos pulgadas de ancho se considera como tirante “espagueti”.) Se consideran inaceptables los vestidos sin tirantes y sin vestir con una chaqueta.

B. Se considera inaceptable vestir con cualquier clase de escote. No se permite vestir con blusas, tops y suéteres con escotes pronunciados y cuellos bajos.

C. Se considerará como inaceptable el uso de telas transparentes o reveladoras a no ser que se lleve sobre otra prenda de vestir que satisfaga el código de vestuario.

D. Las camisas y / o “tops” deberán tocar la cintura de los pantalones y / o faldas en todo momento (es decir, cuando se haga un movimiento, al extender o levantar los brazos, y cuando se esté en la posición sentada, etc.)

E. Todos los suéteres deben usarse con una prenda interior que cubra el torso y el área del pecho.

3. Vestidos y Faldas, Falda-pantalón corta.

A. La longitud de los vestidos, faldas, y faldas-pantalones cortos deberá ser de un mínimo equivalente a la mitad de la distancia entre las puntas de los dedos y la parte superior de la rodilla, cuando la mano de la alumna esté totalmente extendida hacia abajo de su propia pierna.

B. Al medirse faldas, vestidos o faldas-pantalones cortos cuyo diseño sea con una abertura, la longitud se determinará midiéndola desde la parte superior de la abertura.

4. Pantalones cortos

La longitud mínima de los pantalones cortos no deberá ser menor a la longitud de la punta del dedo más largo, cuando la mano de la alumna esté totalmente extendida hacia abajo a un costado de su propia pierna.

5. Pantalones

A. Los pantalones rasgados o cortados, y los que revelan cualquier parte de la piel o de la ropa interior arriba de la rodilla se consideran inapropiados.

B. No se admiten pantalones de pijama, ropa de dormir o ropa que es apropiada sólo para la casa.

6. Pantalones holgados

Los alumnos deberán usar sus pantalones u overoles apropiadamente en la cintura. No deberán colgar.

7. Accesorios

A. Todos los alumnos deberán usar zapatos en todo momento; los zapatos de casa o pantuflas están prohibidos. Los estudiantes que participen en clases de educación física deberán ponerse zapatos deportivos que sean cerrados adelante y atrás y sean de trenzas o velcro para poder participar. Las sandalias están prohibidas.

B. El cabello deberá mantenerse aseado, limpio y razonablemente arreglado.

C. Se considera inaceptable vestir con cualquier clase de cubierta para la cabeza.

D. Las excepciones de carácter religioso y médico deberán ser autorizadas por el director.

E. Deberá vestirse con la ropa interior apropiada y ésta deberá permanecer oculta.

F. Se considerará inaceptable cualquier clase de alhajas con púas o cadenas.

G. Los administradores de los planteles determinarán lo que es apropiado en la clase de aretes y el lugar donde se lleven, y artefactos en la boca.

8. Gafetes de Identificación.

Todo el alumnado tanto de secundaria como de preparatoria deberá portar en todo momento su gafete de identificación, o los gafetes temporales del AISD cuando estén en la escuela o en alguna actividad escolar relacionada. Los gafetes deberán estar a la vista en todo momento. Los gafetes no deberán portarse debajo de la ropa y no deberán portarse en los bolsillos del alumno, mochila, bolso, etc.

Cualquier plantel del AISD que desee implementar una variación de la política del distrito independiente anterior debe solicitar aprobación por escrito enviando una solicitud a la Oficina de Clima Escolar y Conducta Estudiantil.

M¶t sÓ khu h†c xá Çã áp døng qui ÇÎnh m¥c ÇÒng phøc chi‰u theo chính sách cûa Ủy Ban AISD FNCA

(CÖ sª). Phø huynh và h†c sinh nên hÕi khu h†c xá Ç‹ xác nhÆn xem h†c sinh có đòi hỏi m¥c ÇÒng phøc

hay không. Quš vị có thể có một bản sao chích sách của Ủy Ban AISD FNCA (Cơ Sở) từ nhân viên

hành chánh hoặc xem trên mạng tại www.aisd.net/board và nhấn Chính Sách Ủy Ban.

Nên tìm hiểu rỏ về trang phục trước khi mặc đến trường. Điều này có thể biết được từ nhân viên hành

định của ban giám hiŒu.

Giáo viên phäi có trách nhiŒm hܧng dÅn h†c sinh th¿c hiŒn Çúng n¶i qui vŠ trang phøc trong l§p cÛng

nhÜ trong trÜ©ng. Ban giám hiŒu và nhân viên nhà trÜ©ng cÛng phäi có trách nhiŒm nhÜ vÆy. Giáo viên së

tuân theo nh»ng qui ÇÎnh vŠ viŒc k› luÆt h†c sinh liên quan ljn nh»ng vi phåm vŠ trang phøc.

Không cän trª h†c sinh æn m¥c theo th©i trang miÍn là th©i trang Çó vÅn tuân theo nh»ng qui ÇÎnh cûa

trÜ©ng. Tuy nhiên h†c sinh và phø huynh phäi lÜu š ljn trách nhiŒm cûa mình trong viŒc tôn tr†ng triŒt Ç‹

qui ÇÎnh vŠ trang phøc nhÜ sau:

1. T°ng Quát

A. Không ÇÜ®c m¥c ljn trÜ©ng bÃt cÙ trang phøc, ÇÒ trang sÙc, giÀy dép, mÛ nón ... có trang trí, Ãn h†a nh»ng

chi ti‰t quäng cáo,vv .., liên quan ljn hình änh thô tøc và kích Ƕng båo l¿c. ñiŠu này bao gÒm quÀn áo, ÇÒ

trang sÙc, ÇÒ phø kiŒn, có th‹ ÇÜ®c sº døng làm vÛ khí, ÇÒ phø kiŒn có bi‹u tÜ®ng ma túy, tình døc, có thi‰t

k‰ ho¥c ám chÌ t§i thuÓc lá ho¥c ÇÒ uÓng có cÒn.

B. QuÀn áo bó sát ngÜ©i như Spandex hoặc leggings, có thể mặc cùng v§i một l§p quÀn áo khác phù

h®p v§i n¶i qui vŠ trang phøc.

2. Áo sơ mi và Áo Cánh:

A. Áo ngắn hở, áo thun bó sát, và áo dây, ÇŠu không ÇÜ®c chÃp nhÆn (bÃt cÙ áo dây nào dưới hai

inches ÇŠu xem nhÜ là áo dây). Trang phøc có dây mà không có áo khoác ngoài ÇŠu không ÇÜ®c

chÃp nhÆn.

B. M¥c áo hª rãnh ng¿c là không th‹ chÃp nhÆn ÇÜ®c. Những áo cắt thấp xuống, áo ngắn, áo

lenv.v...với áo khoét c° sâu không ÇÜ®c mặc.

C. Các loåi väi mÕng và/ho¥c nhìn rõ thân hình ÇŠu không ÇÜ®c chÃp nhÆn, ngoại trừ mặc trên một lớp

quần áo khác để đáp ứng cách ăn mặc theo quy định.

D. Áo thun/áo r©i phäi luôn dài chåm t§i Çai quÀn/áo (thí dø nhÜ khi cº Ƕng, khi giÖ ho¥c dang

tay, và khi ngÒi v.v...) CÃm m¥c nh»ng loåi áo thun ho¥c áo choàng quá ng¡n.

E. Toàn bộ áo phải được mặc cùng với một lót bao gồm các thân và vùng ngực.

3. Y Phøc, Váy, QuÀn Váy:

A. ChiŠu dài cûa váy ÇÀm, áo ÇÀm, quÀn váy ít nhÃt phäi b¢ng m¶t nºa khoäng cách tØ ÇÀu ngón tay

ÇÌnh t§i ch‡ hª Çó.

4. QuÀn So†c

5. QuÀn Dài

A. Rách, c¡t /rạch hoặc vải bị sờn hª thấy da hoặc đồ lót trên đầu gối së được coi là không thích h®p.

B. Không mặc quần ngủ, đồ ngủ hoặc quần áo mặc thoải mái ở nhà

6. QuÀn xŒ

H†c sinh phäi m¥c quÀn dài ho¥c quÀn overalls m¶t cách chÌnh tŠ Çúng eo bøng-không ÇÜ®c làm cho

lùng thùng.

7. Các Phø Trang

A. Tất cả học sinh phải mang giày vào mọi lúc, giày nhà và dép đi trong nhà đều bị cấm. Học sinh tham

gia lớp học giáo dục thể chất sẽ mang giày thể thao che kín ngón chân và gót chân và phải cột dây

và/hoặc cài velcroed để tham gia, cấm mang dép.

B. Tóc phäi gi» cho g†n gàng, såch së, ki‹u c¡t phäi phù h®p không quá lÓ.

C. Không m¶t loåi che đầu nào ÇÜ®c phép dùng ª trÜ©ng.

D. Những ngoại lệ về tôn giáo và y tế phải được phép của hiệu trưởng

E. ĐÒ lót đứng đắn phäi mặc nhÜng không để lộ ra

F. Các loåi giây xích, và ÇÒ trang sÙc có ÇÀu nh†n không ÇÜ®c chÃp nhÆn.

G. HiŒu trܪng së ấn ÇÎnh sự phù h®p của tất cả xỏ, nới lỗ. và bọc răng “grillz”

8. ThÈ NhÆn DiŒn H†c Sinh (ID)

TÃt cä các h†c sinh trung h†c ÇŒ nhÃt cÃp và ÇŒ nhÎ cÃp ÇŠu phäi luôn Çeo thÈ h†c sinh ho¥c thÈ tåm do

AISD cÃp trong suÓt th©i gian ª trÜ©ng ho¥c lúc tham d¿ nh»ng sinh hoåt ngoåi khóa. Phäi luôn Çeo

thÈ ª nÖi mà các nhân viên cûa AISD có th‹ nhìn thÃy. Không ÇÜ®c Çeo thÈ trong quÀn áo và không

ÇÜ®c mang trong túi, ba lô, giÕ sách v.v. cûa h†c sinh.

Bất kỳ trường AISD nào mong muốn thực hiện khác hơn chính sách được liệt kê ở trên phải được sự

chấp thuận bằng văn bản bằng cách gởi văn thư đền nghị đến Văn Phòng của Trường về Môi Trường và

Hạnh Kiểm Học Sinh
