Stroma Technology offer contaminated land services from the preliminary risk assessment to site investigation and remediation works.
Phase 1 – Desk Study - Preliminary Risk Assessment (PRA)
Our comprehensive PRA service follows current guidance and best practice methodology. We can help you with the first steps in obtaining planning permission.
Preliminary Risk Assessment, typically includes:n Historical map data reviewn Environmental data review (e.g. water quality, landfill, coal mining, ground
instability & geology)n Regulatory consultation with Local Authorities and the Environment Agencyn Visual inspectionn Conceptual modelling (identifying potential pollutants, pollutant pathways routes &
contamination risks)

Phase 2 - Site Investigation & Risk Assessment
We provide full Ground Investigation Services in combination with geotechnical or coal mining site investigation:
n Full design and supervision of the site works in line with current guidancen Application of boreholes, trial pits, penetration tests, laboratory tests and
geophysical methodsn State of the art monitoring equipment for groundwater level logging and landfill
gas monitoringn Volatile hydrocarbon levels monitored in-situ with a PID/FID portable monitorn Portable XRF machine for site specific contaminant levels in near surface areas
within residential gardens
Remediation & Validation
Following the completion of phases 1 & 2, Stroma Technology uses the data to provide a bespoke remedial strategy to demonstrate how the site can be made safe for the proposed end use.
Our meticulous approach provides added value and associated benefits:
n Expert services which form part of the planning processn By recognising problems early there is more time to plan and reduce rectification
costsn Know what you are buying and avoid unnecessary remediation costs
Utility Mapping & Topographic Surveys: Remove the guesswork and detect problems earlier

Stroma Technology employs a mixture of on site surveys and the latest technology to seek out buried structures and give an overall picture both above and below ground
Underground mapping survey – Our expert team utilises electro-magnetic and ground penetrating radar equipment to yield reliable results
Full utility mapping – Receive a map of the underground services on your site, colour coded in separate layers
Topographic survey – We assist in the initial design and planning by mapping above ground features such as roads, structures, boundaries, earth works & embankments
Locate Trace Map
PRE-CONSTRUCTION
Innovative, latest technology: GRID Mobile – our hand held site management tool providing survey data in real-time, on-site. n View data in relation to a located
feature such as an underground cable and where you’re standing on site
n It records and annotates data on the move too
GRID Hosting – our cloud-based information service analyses collected survey data n Easy to use map-based interfacen Gathers, analyses, disseminates and
stores survey data accessible from any location
Stroma Technology is an expert provider of testing and assessment services to the construction industry. We provide:n Minimised liabilities, risks, costs and issues through a complete above and below ground picturen Increased productivity and performance by integrating the latest technologyn A mobile app to record new data in real-time on locationn Our GRID hosting interface means customer documentation is available 24/7

Reliable methods and a trusted approachOur strong reputation in the provision of testing and assessment services to the construction industry means we provide a comprehensive & joined-up service:
n Initial data gathering – to provide a constraints reportn Flood risk report – to accompany the planning applicationn Sequential and Exception Tests – to produce the necessary documentationn Post application – to provide appeal or inquiry expertise in EA & LPA discussions
