STROKE AWARENESS PHILANTHROPY 2013

Page 2: Stroke1

Dear Friend and Loving SisterEmily lived a life full of joy and happiness. With her sophistication and poise she did and always will set an example of a perfect role model to her Phi Sigma Sigma sisters. She became an initiated member of Phi Sigma Sigma her sophomore year of college at Loyola University Chicago. Soon after, she ran for a position and became our fundraising chair. Although our time with Emily was cut short she left a lasting impact on our whole chapter. On December 19th, 2011 when Emily unexpectedly passed away from a stroke, everything stopped. We not only lost our great friend but a sister very dear to our hearts.

Annual Stroke Awareness EventSince Emily's passing Phi Sigma Sigma has started an annual philanthropy event in her memory. The annual stroke event consists of a fundraiser followed by a symbolic balloon release. This year we will be joining with Sigma Chi, Nursing Council and Student Council to put on this event. We hope to keep Emily's spirit alive and raise stroke awareness among students on Loyola's campus. Not a day goes by where we do not miss Emily, but we all know she is always in our thoughts and forever in our hearts.
