1. Tron-esque styling to portray the element of competition. Head to head. Colour choice ties in with the London 2012 Olympics. 2. The experiment required the game’s design to be as simple as possible, so nothing distracted the user from their task. Clean lines and bold colours ensured a minimalist, yet exciting style. 3. Emotion is a key factor within the experiment. Would varying emotions of the opposition increase the pressure and affect the participant’s own results? 4. Once a participant completes the experiment, they receive personalised feedback and results from sporting legend Michael Johnson. An individual’s unique results need to be overlaid using Flash and so close collaboration between design and Flash was essential for seamless visuals that retained the look and feel of the experiment. Our developers had to work with all possible outcomes of the experiment to ensure a totally bespoke result. 5. As well as video, results are also provided within a text format. Each set of results is illustrated to match the theme of the location they are being given in e.g. in a locker room or from the track. These results provide the participant with a complete story of their performance and additional animation of certain results ensure they are relayed to the participant in an engaging manner. Considered design guarantees the same strong, stylistic theme is retained throughout the project. 6. Look and feel: Strong, atmospheric photography. Raw, gritty textures.
