Page 1: Storyboard

Analysis; This is basically the beginning of the song, so I have used shots to establish where the video is set, and the lead up to what is about to happen. What the viewer will see, is a sun shot to represent early morning, then a young male and female, walking into a hospital. When the music really kicks in, there well be shots of the corridors and ceiling lights. SHOT THAT WILL BE USED – LONG, WIDE, EXTREME CLOSE UP to establish the characters.

Page 2: Storyboard

Analysis; It is here, that we now enter where the action is about to begin. The viewer will see various fast shots of different hospital props and actions, to help them understand what has just happened. For the 2 nd picture there will be strobe lighting to show Alysha unconscious to represent a siren effect to the narrative. This is when the music slows down to make way for the vocals. SHOTS THAT WILL BE USED; CLOSE UP, BIRDS EYE VIEW, WIDE, PANNING UP AND DOWN.

Page 3: Storyboard

Analysis; When the vocals begin, is when we will see the male and female enter the room, with a nurse. There will be various close ups to portray they’re emotions of what they are seeing (which is Alysha unconscious). The 4 th and 5th pictures represent what we would see from Alyshas point of view, when going in and out of consciousness. The last picture then goes into a flash back. I have represented flashback scenes with lines over the picture. SHOTS THAT WILL BE USED; CLOSE UP, GROUP SHOT, EXTREME CLOSE UP, P.OV.

Page 4: Storyboard

Analysis; This set of pictures show the flashback in which we see the male from before get a text message, which the female (from before) does not like. It will then go back to the present time of Alysha having a fit, and the nurse going to control here. This is around the end of the first verse, so it gives a small anti-climax. SHOT TYPES TO BE USED; MIDDLE, AERIAL, OVER THE SHOULDER, CLOSE UP.

Page 5: Storyboard

Analysis; It is now the chorus, so I have changed the setting of the characters. The viewer will now see them walking along a corridor, with another quick flash back, indicating another text message. When it comes back to present day, we will see the female notice a sign, but upon looking again, will realise nothing is there. SHOTS TO BE USED; TRACKING, CLOSE UP

Page 6: Storyboard

Analysis; Around the middle of the chorus, I am going to change the scene again, but to make the changeover effective and to not confuse the viewer, I think that I will use some quick cuts going back and forth before eventually changing it. It is then that the narrative goes back to Alysha who is stablised after her fit. We then see a doctor cleaning her up. The last picture shows the beginning of the 2nd verse, in which the location has changed again. SHOTS TO BE USED; P.OV, AERIAL, CLOSE UP.

Page 7: Storyboard

Analysis; We then get to see the male and female again entering a waiting room and sitting down. Close up shots will be used to portray how they are feeling. There is then a clock to represent time going by as they wait. The last picture shows another flashback beginning. SHOTS TO BE USED; LOW ANGLE, CLOSE UP, TWO SHOT, FAST

Page 8: Storyboard

Analysis; During this flashback we will see that Alysha has come to see the male and female (in which the female is not happy about this). It is here that I hope viewers to realise that she sent the text message). She then looks confused. Going back to the present there are more shots of how they are feeling. The 5th and 6th pictures show that the female is about to have a bad experience. SHOTS TO BE USED; GROUP, D.O.F, CLOSE, TWO SHOT.

Page 9: Storyboard

Analysis; Continuing on from before the viewer will now see that the female has seen the same image that she thought she saw before, so it scares her, making her throw the magazine. We then see the male who is at the window, with the doctor (from before) come in. He is holding the bloody shirt that Alysha had on before, and asyou can see he begins to suspect something. SHOTS TO BE USED; EXTREME CLOSE UP, LONG SHOT, D.O.F, PANNING IN.

Page 10: Storyboard

Analysis; The viewer will then see more shots of the doctor holding the bloody shirt. They will then see Khalid with blood on his hand, and him disappearing. Again I have done a small anti-climax before the 2 nd chorus. SHOTS TO BE USED; PANNING IN, EXTREME CLOSE UP, PROFILE SHOT, CLOSE UP, LONG SHOT.

Page 11: Storyboard

Analysis; As the 2nd chorus begins, the location will change again, to the corridor. The viewer will now see lots of the image that the female keeps seeing, copied loads of times. The female will then get angry and go to rip them off the wall. SHOTS TO BE USED; LONG, WIDE, EXTREME CLOSE UP, PANNING.

Page 12: Storyboard

Analysis; Continuing on from this, these set of pictures show that the pictures she has ripped off, don’t actually say ‘I KNOW WHAT YOU DID’ on them. There is then another quick flashback of Alysha cuddling the male, before going back to the present, of her having an even worse fit. SHOTS TO USED; AERIAL, PANNING IN, TWO SHOT, WIDE SHOT.

Page 13: Storyboard

Analysis; This is around the time that the song goes into the instrumental, in which the viewer will see the male with blood on his hands, going to wash his hands. But when the shot is repeated again it will be water. The doctor from before then comes in and notices this. The 3rd picture, is a mirror shot which I would like to use, to question the males sanity. SHOTS TO BE USED; TWO SHOT, CLOSE UP, P.OV

Page 14: Storyboard

Analysis; The viewer will then see some more shots of the male washing his hands, while the doctor becomes concerned, and then there is the final flashback, which where the highest climax of the song. It is over this set of flashbacks that we will see that it is the female who has stabbed Alysha because she is jealous, of her being all over the male. The 5 th and 6th pictures show, her grabbing the knife. SHOTS TO BE USED; EXTREME CLOSE UP, MIDDLE SHOT, HEAD SHOT, GROUP SHOT.

Page 15: Storyboard

Analysis; A quick intersecting shot shows a bloody sinkhole, to keep the viewer updated on what is happening in the present. The flashback then shows her actually going to stab Alysha. It is around here that the song has its highest notes, so it is a good place for the climax. SHOTS TO BE USED, CLOSE UP, CUTTING, TWO SHOT, D.O.F

Page 16: Storyboard

Analysis; Continuing on the story from the last set of pictures, we then see that after she has been stabbed, blood goes all over the floor. I want this to fit in with the crashing sound that comes from the song. The last picture is another location change in which we will see the doctor and nurse begin to look for the male and female. SHOTS TO BE USED; GROUP, TWO SHOT, CLOSE UP.

Page 17: Storyboard

Analysis; This set of pictures are basically a chase scene between the doctor and the male female. SHOTS TO BE USED; TWO SHOT, LONG SHOTS, FAST, CUTTING.

Page 18: Storyboard

Analysis; This where the song will end, with the viewer seeing the male and female get away to their car, however they will not get away, as Alysha sits up in the back. I would like to leave the video hanging. SHOTS TO BE USED; GROUP SHOT, PROFILE, CLOSE UP.

Page 19: Storyboard

ConclusionAs you can see, I have had to make a rather detailed storyboard with loads of shots, because the song is rather fast, and I would like the shots to cut to the beat. I think that this will give a new twist on a narrative story. A lot of the shots used are also close up shots and this is because I need to make sure the viewer will know what's going on, and close up ones

will give the clearest view. However I have tried to incorporate every kind of shot into it at some point, so that there will be more variety to keep the audience interested.
