Your assignment is to create a simplified version of Chapter 3. Your task is to create a book from the series
…FOR DUMMIES with the title BEHAVIOR AND BIOLOGY FOR DUMMIES.
Your book should simplify Chapter 3 to the bare facts. Each page should have a separate subject and should
include short sentence descriptions of the system and a picture to illustrate the system topic. You will be using STORYJUMPER to complete this project (instructions for use are in the next three columns).
Required topics include – this is your table of contents page:

Make your book interesting and appealing to “dummies”. The book will be worth 100 points and
will be graded as follows:
*Content – 50 points-was information accurate and complete?-did the student address the required topics?-does the work have evidence of effort?
*Format – 40 points-did the student follow instructions for
format?-are all component parts in place?-does each topic include a picture?-did book contain 15 pages of information?-did book have a cover page
*Work Habits – 10 points-did the student use his/her classroom time
effectively?

2) sign-up and create an account by using your BHS student ID and password *IMPORTANT - you MUST use this information
for teacher to check on your progress
3) click on the orange create button at the top of the page to begin making book
4) choose “build a book from scratch”
5) here is where you will create your book *book pages are across the top of screen *props, scenes, photos, text at the left
6) time to start creating your book – these items may help you, however, play around with the site may be the best way to learn
7) Helpful Hints--you must use a page already in your book to put on your cover page, simply choose the page number you wish to put on your cover in the “cover page” box
--you may download pictures or clip art to add to your book by clicking on the “get photos” button

--you may choose various types of text boxes and font types or size, simply choose the “text” button on the left
--SAVE frequently by clicking the save button at the bottom of the page
--when logging back in to work on project click on your book and begin working –or- you may have to click on the yellow “MY” button at the top of the page
and choose edit on the next screen (bottom left corner)
8) Finished! Click the exit button at the bottom of the page. On the next screen, choose the change button at the left and fill in the boxes with the following information and click save
9) Time to share! Click the orange share button at the left and on the next screen enter your Buhler Docs e-mail address and click the send button at the bottom of the page.
10) You will now get an e-mail from StoryJumper with a link address on it. Copy that address and put it in your livebinders folder. Also, e-mail a copy to me.
