  • SUNDAY JUMPER

    Skill Level: Beginner

    SML-MED (UK 8-12): 800g/MED-LRG (UK 12-

    16): 1000g TOFT CHUNKY yarn

    12mm & 10mm circular needles (60cm)

    Tension: 8 sts and 12 rows to 10cm in stocking stitch

    using 12mm needles after washing and blocking.

    Using 12mm needles cast on 34 (38) sts, PM then cast

    on a further (34) 38) sts, join in the round,

    Round 1 [K2, P2] rib to end

    Rep Rnd 1 for 10cm

    Next Rnd [K2tog, K to 2 sts before marker, K2tog,

    SM] twice (64 (72) sts)

    K every round until work measures 44cm

    SHAPE FRONT RAGLAN

    **Cast off 1 (2) sts, K to marker, turn

    Cast off 1 (2) sts, P to marker, leave rem 32 (36) sts on

    holder.

    SHAPING

    Work ST ST on 30sts only.

    Row 1 K2tog, K to last 2 sts, K2tog

    Row 2 P

    Rep Rows 1-2 until 20 (22) sts remain.

    NECK

    Next Row K2tog, K4, turn, leave rem 14 (16) sts on

    holder, work on 5 sts only

    Next row P2tog, P3 (4 sts)

    Next row (K2tog) twice (2 sts)

    Next row P2tog, fasten off.

    Working on rem 14 (16) sts, transfer 8 (10) sts to

    holder for centre neck, re-join yarn to rem 6 sts, K4,

    K2tog (5 sts)

    Next row P3, P2tog (4 sts)

    Next row (K2tog) twice (2 sts)

    Next row P2tog, fasten off.

    BACK SHAPING

    Return to sts on first holder and work as FRONT from

    Using 12mm needles cast on 22 (26) sts

    Row 1 [K2, P2] rib to end

    Row 2 [P2, K2] rib to end

    Rep Rows 1-2 for 8cm, end with Row 2 (WS) row

    Row 3 K2tog, K to last 2 sts, K2tog (20 (24) sts)

    Row 5 K2tog, K to last 2 sts, K2tog (18 (22) sts)

    Cont in ST ST without dec until sleeve measures 24cm,

    SHAPE RAGLAN

    Cast off 1 (2) sts at beg of next 2 rows (20 (22) sts)

    Leave rem sts on holder.

    NECKBAND

    Join raglan seams.

    (RS) Using 10mm needles, K 8 (10) sts from holder at

    top of left sleeve, pick up and K 3 sts along left side of

    front neck, then K 8 (10) sts left on holder at front of

    neck, 3 sts along right side of front neck,

    then K 8 (10) sts left on holder at top of right sleeve,

    3 sts along right side of back neck and

    K8 (10) sts left on holder at back of neck, and then

    3 sts along left side of back neck (44 (52)

    sts). Join in the round, PM.

    Work [P2, K2] rib for 10cm.

    Cast off loosely rib-wise.

    Join seams and weave in ends.

    Hand-wash, dry flat and block if necessary.
