Family Trees – draw pictures of family, siblings, parents, grandparents etc. Collect photographs of the classes families. Mathematics Measure and order sticks by length. Measure trees (circumference). Add weighing scales to role play kitchen (indoor and outdoor) for weighing natural objects such as conkers, pebbles, shells and fur cones. Days of the week rhyme/chant every session. Measuring equipment in imaginative play i.e. rulers, measuring tapes, spirit level e.g. builders yard (Block Play Area). Number rhymes. Problemsolving opportunities in play based activities and in adult focussed groups. 2D and 3D shape vocabulary. Make fireworks using junk modelling materials discussing size and names of 3d shapes. Create a work in progress rhyming key person dictionary. Use it to create a short poem about the life of the Stick Man.
