� TRAINING AND PLACEMENT ACTIVITIES:

I. Training

Students of Third year B. Pharm.( current Final Year) went for Industrial Training for one

month from 1st June to 1st July 2018 to various Pharma industries in Pune, Aurangabad,

Nagpur, Goa, Mumbai etc. The next batch of TY B. Pharm will go for industrial Training

in the month of June 2019.

II. Placements (1st Half of 2018)

Regarding placement of the Final Year B. Pharm. and M. Pharm batch passed out in

June 2018 following is the placement data.

� Our students has been placed in various companies in 2018 viz. Abbott,

Sciformix, Nestle,Aculife, Riverer Route, Medicapress, Prersistence, Xogene.

� College placed 20 B. Pharm students out of which 12 are placed on campus and

08 are placed off campus. Average Salary for placed students are around Rs. 2.0

Lakhs with maximum package Rs. 3.2 lakhs for B. Pharm students

� College also placed 14 M. Pharm students out of which 07 are placed on

campus and 07 are placed off campus. Average Salary for placed students are

around Rs. 2.2 Lakhs with maximum package Rs. 3.5 lakhs for M. Pharm

students.

� Dubai based Pvt. Ltd. company conducted first round in the form of group

discussion and Personal Interview on “Live Pharmacy” with participation of 20

students and results is awaited. Second round is expected on 27th April 2019 in

� COLLEGE MAGAZINE : “SPANDAN: THE VITAL BEAT”

Spandan: The vital beat is available on the website of SCOP

(http://www.sinhgad.edu/spandan_The_Vital_Beat_2018-19/) in the form of E-

copy as well as hard copy of the same was published in the month of March 2019.

The technical theme of this year SPANDAN is Cancer and Nanotechnology. The

nontechnical theme is College Katta.

� 57TH NATIONAL PHARMACY WEEK CELEBRATIONS

Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Pune Branch along with all Pharmacy

institutes from Pune organized various competitions and events for the celebration

of National Pharmacy Week, NPW from 25th September to 1st October 2018. It

was based on the theme “Pharmacists: Your Medicines Experts.” SCOP had

successfully organized the Pharmacist Day on 25th September 2018 and the Pharma

Rally for the general awareness of the public for the self medication. where all the

B.Pharm and M.Pharm students were participated. More than 30 SCOP students

from UG and PG courses were participated in different NPW events viz, Paper

Presentation Competition, Essay Competition, Pharma Ad/Mad-Ad Competition,

Quiz Competition, Patient Counseling Competition, Elocution Competition, Poster

Competition, Interview Skills Competition, Debate Competition, Pharma Detailing

Competition, Group Discussion, Drawing Competition and General Aptitude.

� SINHGAD KARANDAK 2018-19

Sinhgad Karandak (Neon 2019) preliminary round and final round was held from

14th to 23rd February 2019 at Vadgaon (Bk) campus. Our students actively

participated in various events viz. Idol Solo Singing, Solo Dance, Group Dance,

Idol Duet Singing, Stage Play , Mr. & Miss Sinhgad of Sinhgad Karandak (Neon

2019) .

� TECHTONIC (PHARMATECH-FEST BRAVURA) 2019

Sinhgad College of Pharmacy organized 5 different events under the Techtonic

2K19 from 20/2/19 to 23/2/19. Pharmacy colleges under the aegis of STES also

organized a “Pharma Pool Event: Bravura 2019” under techtonic at Sinhgad

The participation of students of SCOP in 26 different sports events like Cricket

(Boys and Girls), Football (B), Volley Ball (B and G), Basket Ball (B and G), Table

Tennis (B and G) singles, doubles and mixed, Lawn Tennis (B and G) singles,

doubles and mixed, Running (B and G), Relay (B), Chess (B), Swimming (B and G).

Total number of SCOP students participated were more than 114 in SSK 2018-19.

Cricket (Girls) team reached in semi-final in SSK 2018-19. Basketball (Girls) team

reached in semi-final in SSK2018-19.

� UNIVERSITY SPORTS PARTICIPATION

Students of SCOP also participated in various university level events like, Cricket ,

Kabaddi, Swimming, Running, Badminton (B & G), Yoga (G). Total no of students

participated in University Sports were 42.

� OTHER SPORTS PARTICIPATION

SCOP cricket team participated in Vedant Karandak organized by B. J. Medical

College, Pune, Ness wadia Golden Jubilee Cup organized by Ness Wadia College.

State level pharma Cricket cup: To consider achievement (Runner up) in state level

Pharma cup organized by Poona College of Pharmacy, Pune.

• Students participated in Dandiya programme organized by Sinhgad Cultural

Center on 13/10/18.

• Student participated in Cultural programme organized by Sinhgad College of

Pharmacy on 12/10/18 for NAAC Peer Committee.

• On the occasion of World Pharmacist Day as part of 57th National Pharmacy

Week, and Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhiji, Sinhgad College of Pharmacy

organized various events to celebrate “Swachha Bharat Abhiyan” from 25th

management and Pharma Rally on Tuesday, 25/09/2018. The motive of the rally

was to create Social Awareness about ‘Pharmacists: as Medicines Experts’ and

‘Swaccha Bharat Abhiyaan’. On this occasion, Mr. R. B. Joshi, Assistant

Commissioner of FDA guided the students regarding their role and

responsibilities as future pharmacists. Over 250 Students from Sinhgad College of

Pharmacy, 50 NSS volunteers and all faculty members wholeheartedly

participated in the rally. Students distributed informative pamphlets to the

residents of Vadgaon and college road area which helped to create the awareness

about ‘Pharmacists: as Medicines Experts and ‘Swaccha Bharat Abhiyaan’.

• Nirbhay Kanya Abhiyan: Nirbhay Kanya Abhiyan was conducted on 5th to 6th

February 2019. The target audience for the workshop was girl students of first and

second year B. Pharmacy. The workshop was aimed to increase the awareness

amongst the girl students regarding the proper life style and to tackle various

problems of their age. Dr. Gauri Godbole, Adv. Renuka Vishnu Ghule, Dr.

Sadhana Dharmadhikari, gave speech on first day. On the second day, Ms.

Ashwini Kale, a Taekwondo Trainer demonstrated the self defense session.

• Disaster Management: Disaster management workshop was conducted on 10th

February to 11th February 2019. The workshop was aimed to increase the

awareness about the various disasters and the various ways to manage them. Mr.

Anil Dandekar, former Principal, MIT School, Kothrud, Pune, Smt. Sujata Kodag,

an architect by profession along with Mr. Chandrakant Maduskar and Mr. Vivek

Naydu renowned trainers in first aid, fire fighting, rescue operations and disaster

management demonstrated various rescue operations to the participants. Various

safety measures that could be undertaken during accidents and disasters with the

help of easily accessible tools like handkerchiefs and ropes were elaborated. The

demo sessions also included the application of fire extinguishers, earthquake and

flood rescue operations and cardiac resuscitation.

• Six Sigma Green Belt Course Report (Batch III Oct 2018):

Sinhgad Technical Education Society’s Sinhgad College of Pharmacy (SCOP),

Vadgaon, Pune organized 4 days course (3 days from 9 AM to 5 PM, 4th day one

and half hour examination) for “Green Six Sigma Belt” on Oct. 12&15, 2018. The

Six Sigma Green Belt course was organized in coordination with Asian Institute of

Quality Management (AIQM). AIQM is one of the few institutes accredited by

ASCB (Europe) Ltd. –U.K. for conducting Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. The

MOU is signed between STES and AIQM. As both service and manufacturing

sector industries are already using these techniques and expecting candidates to

be industry ready, this course is useful for all, B. Pharm and M. Pharm. Students.

The course received an overwhelming response from faculty members and PG

students. Total 52 candidates were appeared for examination; out of that 46

candidates were qualified the same. Chief guest Mr. G. K. K. Singh, Partner,

AMTC, India alongwith Guest of Honour Mrs. Singh&Dr. K. N. Gujar, Principal of

college, inaugurated the Program. Mrs. Singh nicely elaborated points related to

“How to face challenges and problems occur in manufacturing, R and D,

analytical and formulation departments; starting from small scale laboratories to

multinational industries”. Dr. DipmalaPatil was the co-ordinator of the program.

• Awareness program for Plastic and E. Waste management

Sinhgad College of Pharmacy (SCOP), Pune is always believes in Environmental

Consciousness and Sustainability. In this regard, SCOP arranged an Awareness

program for E. Waste management for staff and B. Pharm. and M. Pharm.

delivery of a guest lecture on the topic “Awareness for E. Waste Management” by

the representatives of Poornam Ecovision Foundation, Karvenagar, Pune -52 in

the seminar hall from 10.45 am to 12.15 noon. After the Lecture Plastic and E.

Waste Management drive was conducted at First floor and collected E. waste and

plastic material was handed over to Poornam Ecovision Foundation for further

reuse or appropriate treatment. One MoU was also signed between SCOP and

Poornam Ecovision Foundation management of for E. and Plastic waste generated

in college. This program was coordinated by Dr. Hemant Kumar Jain under the

guidance of the principal, Dr. K. N. Gujar.

• Free Blood Testing Camp

Sinhgad College of Pharmacy, Pune has taken a health initiative to arrange a camp

by Golwilkar Metropolis Health Service for free testing of Random blood sugar /

Hemoglobin / Total cholesterol level for local community staying near the college

as this lab is well renowned pathology and quality laboratory in Pune. Purpose of

this camp is to find out patient suffering from various diseases and cure them in

early stage as well as prevent the complications. Information about Blood testing

was provided on 05.01.2018 (Saturday), at 6 pm and Blood testing was conducted

on 06.01.2018 (Sunday), from 8 am to 12 noon at Hall [2nd floor] above Sinhgad

restaurant, Near Bank of India, Ambegaon Bk. More than 50 people have tested

their blood samples during this camp. On the basis of blood testing report after

the camp, suitable counseling and diet chart was provided by yoga centre to

needed patients (if anyone found high blood sugar level, total cholesterol level).

This program was coordinated by Dr. Hemant Kumar Jain under the guidance of

the principal, Dr. K. N. Gujar.
