Statistical Abstract is a highly sought after publication of Directorate of Economics &

Statistics, Odisha as it provides statistics/ indicators on various Socio Economic aspects of

the economy. The current issue of the Statistical Abstract of Odisha , 2012 is the 19th is-

sue in the series.

This publication is the improvised version of the previous publication and attempts

are also made to carry out latest available data under different heads of Socio Economic sec-

tors at the State & District level as far as practicable. It gives State aggregate at convenient

intervals by maintaining the continuity of the time series and thus enables the users to have a

grasp about the comprehensive picture of the Socio economic trends of the State in terms of

quantitative measures.

I hope this publication can serve as a comprehensive reference for authentic data on

various sectors of the State Economy to the researchers, scholars, academicians, adminis-

trators, and students alike.
