designed with the user in mind!

Essential for patient well-being, Codemlon hand

units are attractive and functional with a range of

features including designed-in infection control. And

the best feature of all? Probably the confidence and

control the units offer to patients during their stay in

hospital.

Patient-centred Design

Evolved through many years of experience and

designed in consultation with user groups and

professional bodies including the Royal National

Institute of the Blind (RNIB). The result is waterproof

units with an easy-grip profile, reassuringly tactile

buttons and distinguishing colours. All adding up to a

thoroughly researched design inspired by a simple

aim - to bring peace of mind to patients.

Round-the-clock Protection

To assist in infection control measures, enhanced

protection against bacteria is provided by a silver-

based anti-microbial agent incorporated during the

manufacturing process. Sealed to IP67, the units can

also be immersed in a disinfectant solution or cleaned

with alcohol wipes to eliminate bio-hazards and

reduce cross-infection risks between patients.

Extended Life Cycle

Designed to be robust and essentially maintenance-

free, units comprise a minimal number of component

parts and allow damaged cables to be easily

replaced.

Versatile Solutions

To assist in the provision of appropriate patient care,

Codemlon hand units are available in three versions

as standard – with each hand unit operating

‘intelligently’ in line with individual nurse call system

functionality.

Nurse Call Facilities

An easily identifiable nurse call push button enables

patients to request assistance from staff. A

reassurance LED assures patients that the call has

been registered and nurse call staff indicators

operated.

Lighting Controls

Two buttons allow the patient to control their immediate

lighting environment. As standard, buttons are

programmed to operate two separate lighting units –

usually an up-light and a down-light, providing on/off

functionality. Where electronic ballasts are provided

within lighting units, hand units can provide dimming

functionality.

Torch Facility

A low level LED light is incorporated into the hand unit

for patient convenience. This facility operates only

when the button is pressed and held down.

Entertainment Controls

For use with Codemlon patient entertainment systems,

channel selection and volume control buttons operate

TV and/or radio entertainment – eliminating the need for

multiple remote control handsets.

Full Duplex Speech

High quality, two-way voice communication between

patient hand units and staff indicators, mobile VoIP and

DECT telephones allows for improved efficiency and

patient well-being.
