Bryant received training at Well Control School and obtained his welding license. He was home- based in Louisiana and worked 12 years all over the world on off- shore platforms as a marine engi- neer. “Actually a marine engineer is just a glorified marine mechanic,” Bryant said. “One thing is for sure you learn a lot working off-shore and you have to think fast. When you’re off-shore and you don’t have the parts you need, some- times you just have to make do with what you have.” Bryant decided to relocate to be closer to family and chose North Platte as his sister and her hus- band own a flooring business there. He and his fiance, Cassandra, purchased their home in Staple- ton from the Kenneth Brosius es- tate. “We were looking for a rural set- ting and a town close to North Platte,” Bryant said. “After we moved here I saw there was a big need for a mechanic.” That’s when Bryant started seek- ing out a place for his business after taking on work at his garage at home. Bryant is working with Scott Sal- isbury and cleaning up the build- ing with the ultimate goal of owning it. Bryant Auto & Diesel Repair is working on buses and vehicles for Stapleton Public Schools, and the building offers two large overhead doors to get vehicles in and out easily. Bryant has joined the Stapleton Area Chamber of Commerce and enjoys auto racing and robotics. He is an avid gun enthusiast. “I want to revive a business in town and I am working hard to own the building,” Bryant said. “I love this community and the peo- ple have treated me very well since I moved here.” Bryant said he believes if you take care of your customers, they will take care of you. He added, “A handshake still means something here and that’s very important to me.” Bryant is continuing to clean up and make improvements in the building - and work on vehicles at the same time.
