Staff Spotlight A monthly interview featuring members of the MPCSD staff. Wilfin Morales, Transportation Supervisor and Bus Driver Q: What keeps you driving for MPCSD? Wilfin: The students! They're my motivation and the reason I enjoy my job. Their smiling faces every day makes it a rewarding job. Q: What is your favorite thing about your job? Wilfin: One of my favorite things to do is when I drive the students to field trips and can see their excitement when we're getting ready to get on the road or even when we arrive to our destination. Students really enjoy getting away from school for a day. Q: What do you like to do when you’re not working? Wilfin: In my spare time I like to spend as much time as possible with my family. We like going on small getaways to Disneyland and Palm Springs. I have two high schoolers at Paly and my wife is a medical assistant at Palo Alto Medical Q: Thinking back to your own elementary school days, what do you remember most? Wilfin: I was born and raised in Guatemala. Growing up I had very limited access to things like kids have here. Going to school was fun. I had a lot of friends and I enjoyed playing soccer. I remember that the teachers back then would hit students with a ruler when homework wasn't turned in and completed on time or if you'd misbehave. Q: What is one other thing you’d like to share with MPCSD families? Wilfin: Your children are in good hands. Safety is my priority and caring and making sure students make it to school and home without any troubles is my every day goal.
