Foreword

In the aftermath of the change in Pakistan’s political scenario, theparliament is under a sharp focus. The people who voted for change inthe February elections have high hopes in the parliamentary system.There is renewed interest in its working and how it asserts itself.

The media gave wide coverage to the first sessions of all the Houses,narrating their history, and how they conducted themselves. This interestis still high, as the people are keenly observing the performance of theNational Assembly, Senate, and the four provincial assemblies.

The provincial assembly of Balochistan, the youngest of the fourprovincial assemblies, is alive to the fact that the people want to knowabout their legislature, its working and how it is relevant to them.

We are using all means of communication to keep the people informedabout every aspect of the provincial assembly and making it accessibleto them.

Today the assembly has its own website (www.pabalochistan.gov.pk),which has been set up with the support of the USAID-PakistanLegislative Strengthening Project (PLSP).

The staff directory of the assembly’s secretariat is part of such efforts. Itaims to give the people information about the staff of the assembly andvarious options to contact them. It gives a clear and concise picture ofthe staff and their duties, making it easier for anyone to approach themwithout any hassle.

We are again thankful for the support USAID-PLSP gave us in preparingand printing the staff directory. We look forward to continue working withthe project in bringing improvements in the working of the BalochistanAssembly.
