We make Network Management EASY
Infosim designs, develops and markets StableNet, a software solution for
Service Assurance and Service Fulfillment. StableNet Telco is designed
to address the operational and technical challenges of managing service
provider networks.
Infosim was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Germany where
all the R&D is located. Infosim markets and supports StableNet through
regional headquarters, global channels and an Infosim Certified Partner
(ICP) network.
At Infosim, we place paramount focus on customer satisfaction. We up-
hold an indomitable spirit for innovation and high quality products.

requirements
Differentiation
StableNet is leading the OSS market by providing Service Fulfillment and
Service Assurance integrated on one platform. An industry first! This elimi-
nates the need for costly and complex application integration.
About Infosim
StableNet platform technology revolutionizes management of large
heterogeneous network infrastructures. StableNet enables network
operators to automate End-to-End provisioning of services with as-
surance processes such as measurements and monitoring. Creating
a single pane-of-glass visibility and enabling real-time event and error
management. This is a prerequisite for top-level goals such as reduc-
ing operating complexity and costs, enabling rapid creation of new
services, and improving quality of service.
StableNet extends the boundaries of legacy network silo-based net-
work management by integrating service assurance and service fulfill-
ment. It integrates on a single platform:
Fault Management with Impact Management and Root Cause analysis •
to correlate approximately 90% of all alarms and enrich them before
they reach an operator.
Performance measurement and data normalization to collect traffic •
data and performance KPIs from network elements and circuits.
Configuration management combines highly automated service provi-•
sioning with resource management and a CMDB.
StableNet is built around a third-generation network data manage-
ment architecture. This architecture provides above peer reliability and
scalability. It is designed from the ground-up for reliability and ease of
deployment.
The usage of open technologies and the offer of a industry re-defining
licensing model that actually helps reduce the cost of managing large
networks.

Configuration of elements and services
StableNet configuration management system is highly flexible and highly
automated to streamline product delivery across multiple networks and
service technologies. It is a corner stone of the StableNet solution which
allows zero-touch flow-though integration from service provisioning/dis-
covery to service monitoring and service reporting.
Configuration management
Networks are in a permanent state of change. Keeping on top of what
is happening is complicated, if not impossible. StableNet’s integrated
automatic network and device discovery provides topology visualization
and documentation that helps in the understanding and support of the
IT infrastructure. You can use the data to validate designs and configu-
rations to check for policy compliance or to auto-correct any mistakes
found in the network. The configuration management system discovers
the network including all it’s properties such as:
All devices with their properties•
All physical and logical links such as VLANs•
All Layer 3 and Layer 2 VPNs•
QoS policies •
All servers with the applications running on these servers•
Configuration changes
StableNet breaks down the walls between traditional service silos, allow-
ing innovative, revenue-generating products to be created quickly from
a wide range of access, content and application elements and delivered
securely across multiple technology platforms. Configuration changes
can be scripted in XML and automatically deployed on network ele-
ments.
StableNet provides automatic Root-Cause analysis (RCA) and Service
Impact management for networks, systems and services. Engineers can
focus on and prioritize service-affecting events.
StableNet use a combination of threshold monitoring, SNMP trap pro-
cessing and Syslog processing to perform authentic problem analysis in
real time. Events are correlated by the buit-in RCA subsystem without the
need to write and update correlation rules. Alarm dashboards and notifi-
cations are enriched with business and service information. This provides
NOC engineers with understandable and actionable information.
Extensive reporting capabilities provide invaluable data for network plan-
ners and network managers.
StableNet can integrate with existing management applications and inte-
grate with 3rd party applications. For example, if a trouble-ticketing ap-
plication is used to track problems and resolutions, StableNet can be
integrated with the trouble-ticketing application to automatically open a
trouble ticket when it detects a failure and to close the trouble ticket when
the failure is cleared.
Automatically correlates root-cause events without the need to code and •
update rules
Enriches alarm information and dashboards with business impact infor-•
mation
Provisions alarm monitors for all relevant KPIs of all network assets •
automatically
Supports integration with SMS, pager, email, trouble ticket and script •
execution on alarm events
Provides best-in-class event reports and statistics•
Provides a real-time status dashboard of all assets and services•
Root-Cause and Impact Management
Real-time and long-term reports
StableNet includes an advanced Service Level Management (SLM) and
reporting system for networks, servers and applications. This provided
network operators the flexibility to collect and report the KPIs that are
most important to them and their customers.
StableNet runs continuously to identify and report on IT infrastructure
performance and events on a real time basis and to perform historical
reporting to identify long-term trends.
Understand the quality of service provided to end users •
Increase business revenue by reducing outages that directly affect busi-•
ness operations
Increase customer satisfaction and loyalty by ensuring that services •
used directly by consumers are responsive and available whenever
required
Proactively plan to meet future business requirements, including work-•
load volumes and required service levels
Increase ROI on IT assets by balancing workloads and obtaining highest •
levels of component utilization while still meeting service level require-
ments
Reduce or eliminate penalties associated with contractual commitments •
to meet specified service levels
StableNet provides a highly flexible reporting engine. All reports can be
fully customized to meet specific requirements best. A graphical report
designer is included which allows the creation of reports in a point-and-
click manner. StableNet supports PDF and HTML formats. Report pub-
lishing can be done on a schedule (e.g. hourly, daily, weekly, monthly) or
on-demand.
SLA Reports
SLA reports document the network operator’s
delivery against contractual obligations. They
are often less detailed than performance re-
ports. Typically they show only performance at
the service layer, and not lower layer informa-
tion like the underlying transport network.
Usage RepoRts
Usage reports show utilization, volume and
throughput with baselines, top N, and trends.
Going beyond monthly totals to provide time-
lines can help users understand peak and off-
peak loads, and correctly size network to meet
actual demands.
Qos RepoRts
QoS reports help the customer understand
performance and usage per Class of Service
(CoS). This is important in converged networks
like IP based RANs. QoS reports include infor-
mation needed to correctly classify and tune
application traffic for the best performance.

OSS is always a strategic investment for any service provider. Infosim
offers excellent value being fully convergent and handling multi-vendor
and multi-technology networks. StableNet provides provisioning, peform-
ance management, reporting and fault detection capabilities which help
a service provider to improve their competitiveness. In turn, the service
provider’s customers benefit from reliable and fast service delivery that
they have come to expect.
As an OSS solution, StableNet will always be integrated into a the solution
landscape that makes up the entire OSS/BSS environment. The Telem-
anagement Forum is a non-profit global industry organization that pro-
vides leadership, strategic guidance, and practical solutions to improve
the management and operation of communications services. Infosim is
an active TM Forum member. Guidelines and standards published by the
TM Forum facilitate the integration and interoperability of OSS/BSS solu-
tions.
StableNet is designed based on TM Forum principles:
The Enhanced Telecom Operations Map (eTOM) Team as members•
The New Generation OSS (NGOSS) program as a co-lead of the Shared •
Information and Data (SID) Model Team
StableNet Telco aligns with both eTOM, as well as with ITIL for a granular
process mapping of the IT Operations aspects of a Service Providers’ end
to end service delivery model. StableNet Telco also aligns with eTOM’s
linkages to the NGOSS framework via an optimized network abstraction
model within StableNet.
The optimized network abstraction model provides a common foundation
for the definition of all objects which are managed. These correspond
to eTOM to support it’s Resource Management and Operations, Service
Management and Operations, and CRM processes.
