The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ We have had three consecutive
weeks of significant Solemnities—Pentecost, Trinity Sunday, and now the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, better known by the name of Corpus Christi which translates from the Latin as the “Body of Christ.”
Clearly this is a celebration which brings our focus on the Eucharist, which is at the absolute center of our liturgy, and at the core of our Catholic faith. We have mentioned many times that all revolves around the Eucharist when we receive the real Body and Blood of the Lord.
According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (#1324), “The Eucharist is ‘the source and summit of the Christian life.’ The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself.”
The Eucharist should be the high point of our week, or even of our day. The author J.R.R. Tolkien (author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy), who was a devout Catholic, once stated, “The only cure for sagging or fainting faith is Communion. Though always itself, perfect and complete and inviolate, the Blessed Sacrament does not operate completely and once for all in any of us. Like the act of Faith it must be continuous and grow by exercise. Frequency is of the highest effect. Seven times a week is more nourishing than seven times at intervals.” Taken from Stewardship Bulletin Reflections

Stewardship Thoughts Today’s Scr ipture readings
emphasize the old and new covenants. In the Book of Exodus, Moses brings the ancient Israelites to an agreement with God through the sacrificial blood of young bulls. This action prefigures Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice on the cross for our sins, and the opportunity for eternal salvation. The author of the Letter to the Hebrews contrasts Old Testament sacrifices of goats and calves with the new covenant sealed in the very Blood of Christ. In St. Mark’s Gospel, the evangelist tells of Jesus’ institution of the Eucharist at our Lord’s Last Supper. This action begins the new covenant with His disciples and us — a covenant that continues today. As fai thful stewards, we believe in Christ’s true presence: Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity, in Holy Communion. By receiving this tremendous gift, we become what we consume, finding strength to live virtuous and holy lives. As a result, with heart-felt gratitude, we deepen our love for God and neighbor in need. Check to see when Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction are scheduled in your parish and spend some quiet time with our Lord and Savior.

Word For the Little Ones
Word For the Little Ones has concluded for the year and will return in September.
Thank you parents for sharing your children with us. Your children are a true joy! We would like to take this time to
give our heartfelt thanks to Bob Lepper. Bob has decided after close to 10 years to take some time off from teaching Word For the Little Ones. We, and the children, will surely miss you Bob! We also thank Leslie and Abby Benard, Sylvia Snigier, Hannah Lepper and Gerri Barnauskas for sharing their Sunday’s with all of us and especially the children. We thank all of you.
Our Spiritual GPS Children understand the impor-
tance of maps. When we want to travel somewhere new, a map or GPS can show us how to get there. The 10 Commandments are our spiritual GPS – if we follow them, we will get where we want to go. “Whoever humbles himself like this
child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me” (Matthew 18:4)

Prayer to Know My Vocation Lord, I want to be happy in this life and spend eternity with You in the
life to come.
From the first moment of my existence, You knew my vocation. Please help me discover Your plan
for my life.
Help me to know myself. Help me to overcome my fears. Help me to want what You want. Help me to trust You completely.
Send Your Holy Sprit into my mind and heart so I can see the gifts You have given me and hear Your call to
serve the Church. Increase my desire to bring others to You and to help them reach heaven.
Mary Most Holy, Mother of God, pray for me, that I can discover my
vocation and have the courage to respond in faith. Amen.
Six Ways to Discover My Vocation
How can I know God’s plan for my life?
1 . PRAYER . P r a y e r i s a conversation with God—not just saying prayers, but speaking to the Lord from your heart. Every day, read the bible and talk with Jesus as if he were your best friend. Ask him to reveal his plan for you: “Jesus, I want to want what you want. Here I am Lord; I come to do your will.” Trust completely that God has a plan for you. 2. SACRAMENTS. The soul is the
window through which we can see god and hear his voice. If the window is dirty because of sin, it must be cleaned through Confession so we can be in union with God. When you receive Communion, ask Jesus to show you your vocations. 3. GOOD INFORMATION. It is
impossible to discover your vocation without good information. What does it mean to have a holy Christian marriage? What do priests do? What is it like to be a religious sister or brother? 4. THE BLESSED MOTHER. Mary
is the ultimate example of openness to the will of God. Are you open to

Responding to Common Pro-Abortion Arguments
Pro-Abort Argument: The fetus is totally dependent on the mother to live. Pro-Life Response: Isn’t a toddler dependent on his/her mother, too? Should we allow the killing of toddlers, too? Pro-Abort Argument: Abortion is a private decision between a woman and her doctor. Pro-Life Response: If a woman privately hires a doctor to kill her newborn or toddler, should we interfere? Pro-Abort Argument: Are you personally going to adopt and care for the babies you don’t want aborted? Pro-Life Response: If I agree to adopt them, will you agree that women shouldn’t abort them?

and Blood of Christ
In our modern times, symbol can seem to have lost its value. The most recognizable "signs" are ones we see on the road or the branding in advertisements. The logos for major companies don't do much more than perk our interest or disdain. They surely don't deliver on their promises for our lives to be happier, healthier, and easier. On this feast of Corpus Christi, we
hear the account of the Last Supper. This was Passover, an ancient sign of the covenant of Moses. The Hebrew people celebrated God's providential care for His people. To the listening disciples, Jesus makes a very bold claim. "This is my blood of the covenant." At the time of the first Passover -- the redemption of the Hebrew people from slavery to the Egyptians -- the blood of the sacrificial lamb was spread on the lintels of the doorpost. Tomorrow, some of the disciples would witness the blood of the new covenant spread across the wood of the cross. Christ's Body and Blood are more
than a sign. They are a sacrament. In the sacrament, the sign makes real what it signifies. More than ritual, a sacrament enacts truth of the covenantal love of God and His promise of fidelity. It's a promise God keeps. The same bread and wine of that first Holy Thursday liturgy becomes -- throughout the centuries and until the end of time -- the very Body and Blood of Christ. On this feast, we celebrate the unfailing covenantal love of our God. As you partake in the Eucharist today, and next Sunday, and the Sunday after that, remember that you receive neither a meaningless sign nor an empty offer. You receive God Himself, as He fulfills His promise to remain with us always.

Thoughtful Moments St. Germaine Cousin
Born to poor parents near Pibrac, France, St. Germaine suffered from a deformed right hand, sores on her neck and ill health from neglect and abuse. Despite this, she was never bitter. She walked to Mass daily – even in the winter – and shared what she had with the poor. The most powerful proof of St. Germain’s holiness was her forgiveness of her abusive stepmother, Hortense. She is the patroness of abuse victims, people with disabili t ies, and shepherdesses.
Make Anger Work Teach children that it isn’t healthy
to pretend we’re not angry when we are. Instead of giving in to anger, through, find a solution to the problem. “In your anger do not sin” (Psalm 4:4).
