ECW AND ALTAR GUILD CONFERENCE OCT. 5-7, 2012 AT BECKWITH Dear Women of the Central Gulf Coast,

On behalf of the Episcopal Church Women’s Commission, I would like to invite you to join us for The Fall Women’s Conference. It will be held at Beckwith Camp and Retreat Center on October 5-7, 2012. Come and experience great fellowship and worship with other women.

Our guest speaker is The Rev. Dr. A. Katherine Grieb. She has taught New Testament at Virginia Theological Seminary since 1994. Her theme is

“Opening the Bible, Opening Ourselves; Toward a Deeper Reading of the Scripture.” We are excited and blessed to have such an outstanding teacher to lead our retreat.

The ECW Commission is responding to the needs of our younger women by offering a “Women of Vision” retreat. This will be a great opportunity for younger women to come together with their peers for fellowship and spiritual growth. Under the direction of Joanna Taylor, a team of six young women will collectively present the modules for “Women of Vision”. Space is limited to twenty-four women and these will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

This year, the Diocesan Altar Guild, under the direction of Cecelia Lacey, will host the President of CM Almy, Stephen Fendler. He will lead a workshop on Sacristy Do’s and Don’ts. Dianne Walters will also present a Disaster Communion Kit workshop. The Altar Guild will have a short meeting on Sat., October 6 at 1:00 p. m. All Altar Guild members (men and women) are welcome to attend the meeting and workshops. Please make sure you register for the meeting and workshops. The Diocesan Parish Nursing Network Group will meet for lunch on Saturday, October 6th at 12:00 Noon. The cost for lunch is $10.00 and you must register. They will offer two opportunities for the CEUs. Low Vision and Post-traumatic stress disorder workshops will be offered in the afternoon.

An Anglican Prayer Bead workshop will be offered for $10.00 to cover the cost of materials. Jan Craver will offer two Yoga workshops on Saturday afternoon. There is a $5.00 charge per class. One class will be for chair yoga and the other class will require a mat.

There will be many wonderful events taking place during The Fall Women’s Conference. Your Commission has worked hard to provide a variety of workshops to accommodate everyone. Please join us for some time away to become spiritually renewed. Don’t forget to add any workshop fees to your registration fee. Remember space is limited so register now call 251-928-7844.

Sincerely, Rebecca Dyson ECW Commission President
