Organ Recital - September 11 @ 4pm

Elizabeth-Anne is playing at All Saints East St Kilda

(cnr of Dandenong Rd and Chapel St) next Sunday afternoon. It is a loaded

date - 15 years since Sept 11, 2001 - and this influenced

much of the choice of repertoire, which is mindful

of things this date will refresh in our consciousness.

The program concludes with Olivier Latry’s 2007 setting

of the Salve Regina, an invocation that has been sung since the Middle

Ages. Latry, professor of organ at the Paris

Conservatoire and titular organist at Notre Dame, wrote of this work that it

expresses moments of deep faith, joy, doubt,

incomprehension, despair, rebellion, hope, bliss and beatitude through its

reflections of the invocation to Mary.

The recital also includes works of Dupre , Franck and Bach and I hope that the overriding sense of this program is one of beauty,

peace and optimism.
