War Memoirs is presented to commemorate the start of the World War, one hundred years ago in 1914. The war was entered into to protect our freedom. Only later, was it known for the engineering developments to which it gave rise, the new opportunities afforded to women, and its terrible cost in terms of the wounded and the huge number of lives lost.

Dedication Jean Morris was a founder member of St Peter's Players in 1970. She came south to Brentwood with Don, her husband, in the 60's, where they purchased a house in Belvedere Road. She and Don were childless; her friends became her 'family'.

Jean started teaching children at local schools, and instructed students in LAMDA courses; both of these she continued for the many years her life extended. Her social life centred around local groups and friendships, and through drama groups in which she acted and directed many, many times, winning for herself several NODA prizes.

Jean was still active in St. Peter's Players as recently as a month before her death, notoriously playing the part of Miss Maple in the Players' latest production 'Murdered to Death'.

Jean was renowned for her effervescent, caring and friendly personality, and her kind interest in people and their lives. She never tired of helping people and contributing to the world around her. She will be sorely missed, and long remembered.

Thanks are extended to both Betty Moore and Hutton Wl for their choral singing, and to Brentwood Homestead Wl for their support in the provision of refreshments.

Please speak to a member of the committee if you would like a DVD of the production, or a copy of the slideshow.
