Deacon Luis Navarro, retired deacon from Churchdown, who died near Slough where he has been living for the past couple of years. SUPPLY: Both Mgr Liam and Fr Gerry are supplying the weekend mass in Matson and Tuffley this weekend. SCHOOL HOLIDAYS; We would like to wish staff, pupils and all involved in our schools a very happy, restful and safe summer holiday. LITTLE CHURCH: Is now finished for the summer and will resume in September. Thank you to all who enable Little Church to be so much a part of our parish life. WELCOMERS: We are in need of volunteers to act as additional welcomers at the 10.30am mass on Sundays. If you feel you can help please speak to Mgr Liam. SAFETY: In order to ensure the safety of all parishioners, parents are asked not to allow children walk around the church unaccompanied and especially to ensure that children are accompanied by an adult family member when they are using the church toilet. PRINKNASH ABBEY: Days of Prayer at Prinknash Abbey to The Divine Mercy and The Immaculate Heart of Mary. The next one will be on Saturday, 15th August - at 10.30am. Please see poster displayed at the back of the Church. All are welcome. CENACOLO: The next Cenacolo Prayer Group will meet on Wednesday 29th July and 7.30pm. It will then break for the summer and resume on September 9th. From then on the Cenacolo Prayer Group will meet on the second Wednesday of each month. KNITTING GROUP: Next gathering is on Wednesday July 22nd following the 11.30am funeral mass. Meet in the coffee bar. SERVICE FOR PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS: On Wednesday July 29th at 7.30pm in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Newent. All welcome. EXPLORING THE CATHOLIC FAITH: New Saturday group to be held at Prinknash. If you are interested in exploring aspects of the Catholic faith through discussion and using art, music, scripture, poetry and prayer, you are most welcome. The meetings will also explore different ways of praying. PROCLAIM 15: Visit www.catholicnews.org.uk to get reports on the Proclaim 15 National Evangelisation Conference that took place on July 11th, and to read the keynote address given by Cardinal Nichols. Copies of this address are also available at the back of the church. We will continue to pray the Proclaim 15 prayer up to Home Mission Day, September 20th. Fr Christopher Whitehead has been appointed as full time Director of the department for Evangelisation and Adult Education ASSISTED SUICIDE BILL: On Friday 11th September the House of Commons will debate and vote on a Bill to legalise assisted suicide. This will put the most vulnerable people in our society at risk. Please contact your MP, urging them to attend the debate and vote against the Bill. You can send an e-mail to your MP via the Catholic Bishops’ Conference website (www.catholicnews.org.uk/assisted-suicide) or send a letter by post, a draft of which can be found at the back of the Church.

PROCLAIM 15 PRAYER: Loving Father, You so loved the world that you sent us your only Son, that

we might believe in him and have eternal life. May we encounter Jesus Christ anew this day and live the Good News with joy. Through the power

of your Holy Spirit, help us to “go out to the whole world and proclaim” our faith with confidence. Give us the courage to witness to the Joy of the

Gospel by our words and actions. Help our parish to become more welcoming and missionary, so that you may be known and loved by all
