St. Mary of the Lake University
For all the saints, who from their labors rest,
Who Thee by faith before the world confessed,
Thy Name, O Jesus, be forever blessed.
Alleluia, Alleluia!
It is amazing to think that this week we celebrate the Feasts
of All Saints and Holy Souls. These are indeed beautiful
feasts in which we celebrate those who have gone before us in
faith, honoring those recognized by the church, canonized to
sainthood, and reflecting upon those in our own lives who
have been a light of faith.
In recent years we have heard of the doubts of faith which
were part of the life of Theresa of Calcutta; history reveals the
conversion of St. Ignatius of Loyola; we can be in awe of the
selflessness of Maximilian Kolbe; inspired by the holiness of
John Neumann and the generosity of St. Katherine Drexel.
Each of us has our own “favorite saint” to whom we turn in
time of need, or whose life intrigues us to want to know more.
However, our honoring them should also remind us of our
own call, a call to holiness. The lives of the saints should stir
within us a deep desire to imitate their faith, which often was
not without struggle, yet their commitment was constant.
Our journey to holiness may or may not reflect any of the
Saints and it may have some obstacles along the way.
However, if it is our journey to God then we are on the right
path.
These are also days in which we recall the fond memories of
our loved ones who have gone before us in faith and their
journey to holiness. We may recall how often they inspired
us, how they selflessly gave of themselves, how they may have
doubted yet remained faithful, or the times they returned to
the Lord for compassion. They too are among the saints
whose lives we remember. In the telling and retelling of their
stories we gain hope.
May our celebration of these days encourage us in our jour-
ney of faith. Let us pray for one another that we may answer
our personal call to be saints in our world, that we too may be
counted among the Saints in light.
God Bless you,
Saturday, November 17
at the 5:00 PM Vigil Mass
All of our loved ones who have
passed away during this past year
will be remembered at this annual
Mass of Remembrance.
The names of those loved ones will be called aloud and a
candle, reminding us of Christ the light that can never be
extinguished, will be given to a family member
of each of the deceased.
If you have a member of your family who has died since
November 1, 2017 and their funeral was celebrated at another
parish, please call the Parish Office (610-647-2345), if you
would like them remembered at this special Mass.

LIGHT & LOVE HOLY HOUR
Friday, November 9 - 7PM - 8PM
End your week with a time of prayer at St. Patrick Parish. On the second Friday of
each month, you are invited to bring the good and the bad, the highs and lows of your
week and simply be present with God as you enter a restful weekend.
Each Light & Love event will begin with a brief guided meditation, silent reflection,
and time for reconciliation in order to guide our thoughts and prayers. After cleans-
ing our souls, we will enter into adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, simply appreci-
ating God’s endless love for us. Finally, we will close with shared worship and song to
celebrate the glory of being God’s beloved children.

Building and Appeal Update….
Our Growing Together as a Family of Faith Appeal continues to gain momentum as we
prepare for our growing community.
The preliminary work for the second & third phases of our project is now underway.
Our next phase is the installation of a new playground for our parish. The preliminary architec-
tural drawings have been reviewed and there are some updates that need to be included. There
will be an area for our young children, with playground equipment, a safe surface for the children.
The playground, in its preliminary stages has a small area for a basketball net as well as a large open area with grass for kickball. The
entire area will have a fence and landscaping.
We will keep you updated as we progress.
Thank you for your continued generosity and financial support.
Be sure to visit our parish website
www.stpatrickmalvern.org.
You can help protect mothers & children
by joining this worldwide mobilization to
pray and fast for an end to abortion. St.
Patrick Parish’s vigil days for
praying for the unborn babies,
their families and for the clinic
workers outside Planned Parenthood will
be on Saturday, November 3. Please
consider signing up in the narthex of the church for
a vigil time.

The Flame of Love
The devotion to the Flame of Love of the
Immaculate Heart of Mary finds its origin
in the revelations of the Lord Jesus Christ
and the Virgin Mary to Elizabeth Kindel-
mann, a Hungarian mother of six, between
the years 1961 and 1982. Elizabeth died on
April 11, 1985. Through her, the Virgin Mary
placed into our hands a new means: the
Flame of Love of Her Immaculate Heart. The Virgin Mary
wants the devotion to the Flame of Love of Her Immaculate
Heart to spread throughout the world so that the greatest
number of Her children may respond to Her urgent plea.
Through the Flame of Love, we are all invited to take part in
the Work of Salvation by blinding Satan, the source of all
evil, and thus help the Lord Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary
to save souls.
St. Patrick Parish now has The Flame of Love Prayer Group.
All are invited to gather for prayer the 1
st
and 3
rd
Sunday of
each month in our Church. For more information please con-
tact Deacon Lou at [email protected]
The next gathering for The Flame of Love Prayer
Group at St. Patrick will be November 4th & 18th.
All are welcome to join us.
