Our parish family pray for the success of our graduates
and for their success in future endeavors.
We ask that God keep them healthy, happy and safe.
HAPPY FATHERS’ DAY to all of you! We often give
a lot of attention to our mothers on Mothers’ Day, and
perhaps a little less to fathers on Fathers’ Day. Or we
may buy him a barbeque grill, and then expect him to
barbeque us dinner that day. It almost sounds silly. Of
course, if it’s his barbeque, who else will cook on it?
We look to St. Joseph as the model for all fathers. Even
if we don’t know much about him, we understand that
he took care of Mary and Jesus as best as he could. He
was someone who worked with his hands, most likely a
woodworker. That means it was a tough life. We all
have other models of fathers that have sustained and
supported us. Let’s appreciate them in a special way
this weekend.
Congratulations to all of our graduates as well! May
your life journey continue to be blessed and grace
filled.
Here is a short update on the items that were destroyed
during the vandalism in May. We are ordering two
statues, of Mary and Joseph. It will take about 10
weeks for them to be made in Italy and shipped here.
We (the staff) are sure that you will like them. The
Easter candle holder was bent and is in bad shape.
Some of the other candle holders next to the altar and
ambo are also weakened. Most probably, we will order
a new set. Then we will purchase a processional cross
to match (I was not able to purchase one for us in
Rome), to have a complete matching set. We are pres-
ently using the 2018 Easter candle; the candle company
is donating a 2019 Easter candle. That should arrive
any time now.

PRAY FOR OUR SICK
Page 3
Greetings and Salutations,
Today, we celebrate the Most Holy Trinity, God the
Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. 3
persons in one God may be hard to think about and
understand, that is why we call it a mystery. We know
that God the Father is our creator, he created us in
love, God the Son died for us; because he loved us that
much to insure us heaven, and God the Holy Spirit
loves us so much he is with us daily. Today is a
reminder of God’s amazing love!
What are the symbols of God’s amazing love in your life?
For reflection…is there someone you know that has
been away from church for a while? Maybe today or in
the next few weeks invite them to Mass. Let them
know you are thinking of them and that God’s love
them.
Have a great week everyone!
Peace and Prayers,
Sabrina Queen

7011 N. Wayne Rd. Westland
MONDAY, JUNE 17
8:00am-5:00pm
The owners of Olympic Coney Island have generous-
ly offered to host a fundraiser to offset the cost of
cleaning up our Parish after the Vandalism that took
place at the end of May. A percentage of all custom-
ers bills who mention that they are from St. Mary,
Cause of Our Joy on Monday, June 17, from 8:00 am
to 5:00 pm will come back to our par ish!
You MUST mention that you are from
the parish so support us.
Please help support us, and the generous people over
at Olympic Coney Island.
Don’t forget to thank the staff/owner of Olympic for
their support!

WEDNESDAYS
12:30pm —3:00pm in Church
*there will be no Eucharistic Exposition on
Wednesday, June 19
Fr. Ken (continued from front page)
Most everything else has already been taken
care of. Thankfully, insurance is covering most
of the expenses, except for our deductible. As
you know, Olympic Coney Island is holding a
fundraiser for us on Monday, June 17 from 8
am – 5 pm. With that money, we should be
able to cover the rest of our expenses. Please
stop in at Olympic on that day, thank them for
their generosity. The owner told me that after
all the donation money is counted, he will equal
it from his own pocket. Please be gracious to
them. It was their idea to do this for us. What
great community support.
Summer is beginning this Friday. Have a
Blessed Summer.
Fr. Ken
