RUBBISH
• At end of each day students collect rubbish off the fields (& surrounding bushes), and yesterday after morning tea, two students (thanks Harry & Joel) collected half a bag of rubbish, WOW that’s a lot of rubbish since the afternoon before. Students need to be mindful of rubbish from their food and the rubbish they put in their pockets, and that ALL rubbish needs to be put into the bins supplied.

GRAEME WEST Rugby League Tournament Congratulations to our 13 year 5 & 6 boys that participated in the annual Graeme West
League tournament on Wednesday. We came away with a win, draw & loss and finished
second equal in our pool (with our only loss
against the winning team Normanby Primary
school who beat Turuturu School in the final).
We beat Kakaramea/Patea combined, lost to
Normanby, drew with Waverley.
A HUGE thank you to Sean Delehanty and Dennis
Buijtendijk for coaching the team, not an easy
task to learn new rules and game plans. But a job
very well done 😊
Thanks to all the parents that came down to
support the team and finally a thank you to the
boys for giving it their all and playing well.
For the boys that stayed after prizegiving, we were
lucky to get a photo with Graeme West (who came
down to watch the games) & Wayne Capper (Taranaki Rugby League).
Welcome to Eliza Archarige. Eliza is in Room 7 with Mrs Meyer.
We hope you enjoy your time at our school 😊
Room 2 has been having a great time playing Ripper Rugby with
“Whizz” from the Taranaki Rugby Union. They have been doing
a lot of chasing as they tried to “rip” the tags off the other
team. We certainly have some very fast runners in our class
and they showed great dodging and sportsmanship.
App ideas for Educational Games Here are some APP ideas for parents / children to use at home.

Across Term 2, Room 7 has been investigating the changes in needs of a bean seed and plant. We
worked in pairs to grow bean seeds in different environments. We watched and discussed the progress of
our seeds as the term progressed. We discovered that beans grown in the dark will have very light
coloured leaves and stalks but will grow very tall. Our beans that had no water grew but were very small
and weak. We measured our bean plants after 8 weeks and found that the beans that had lots of water,
grew in soil and sunlight grew the tallest and strongest. To finish our unit and assess our learning of the
parts of a bean, we created a life cycle of a bean. Here are some photos of the unit. Come into Room 7 if
you want to have a look at our work or check out our beans in the garden outside our double doors. Have a
great holiday everyone. From Room 7.
