The concert kicked off with the sixth grade band, helped out on percussion by a couple of our high school band students, sopho- mores Matthew Nelson and James Na- jvar. Their performance was followed up by the 7th and 8th grade ensemble, helped again by Matthew and James. The third group to perform for the evening was the high school band, fresh from their State TAPPS performance the week before where they earned the Division One Sweepstakes by earning Division One, or top ranking, in sightreading and in their ensemble performance. The spring concert is also the time that Band Director Roger Boening recognizes the senior members of the high school band and delivers several other awards. This year’s recognized band members were: Seniors: Brendan White (flute), Roxanne Fernandes and Patrick Patke (clarinet), Faith Starnes and Jared Martinez (alto sax), Tessa Miller and John Najvar (trumpet), Zane Veteto, Daylan Velasquez and Nick DiMarco (trombone). Senior Spotlight!Congratula-tions to Bryson Peddicord on his acceptance to Blinn Col-lege. Bryson has been attending St. Joseph since kindergarten and is a member of

the St. Joseph High School Choir. He is also a varsity athlete, playing football, soccer, and basketball for the Eagles. After high school, Bryson will attend Blinn College and pursue a degree in computer programming.
