The most magical adventure of them all Follow the yellow brick road and go over the rainbow into the Theatre Royal this Easter for Regal Entertainments’ enchanting production of The Wizard of Oz. Click your heels together and join the Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, Dorothy and her little dog Toto, as they journey through the magical land of Oz to meet the Wizard and obtain their heart’s desires. Watch out for the Wicked Witch of the West as you rediscover the real story of Oz in this fantastic Easter treat for all the family. Katie Tracey’s critically acclaimed play comes to the Theatre Royal after a sell out smash hit at the Liverpool Actors Studio in 2011. Directed by the one and only Pauline Daniels, this hysterical comedy play is a perfect accompaniment to your Grand National weekend. Meet acid tongued Barb, hard – grafting Bev, her teenage daughter Abbey, goodtime girl Jools and Mo who swap their hairnets at the Jacobs Biscuit Factory for hats, posh frocks and Ladies Day at the Grand National. Once glammed up and revved up on a champagne breakfast, it’s time for a no holds barred outing to Aintree complete with likely lads, hilarious drunken outbursts and a few home truths along the way. Join Chrissie (Emerick), Franna and Lash as they plan a ciggie run to subsidise their income during the recession with hilarious consequences. The Ciggie Run is smooth going until local gangster Fitzy discovers his unmarried daughter is destined for a stroll around Mothercare and the father to be is a young Cuban by the name of Fernando. An ensuing flight turns into a hilarious comedy as the Ciggie Run gets underway. TUE 22 – SAT 26 MAY Tue – Sat eves 7.30pm.
