My dear brothers and sisters, Today is Easter Sunday. Yet, many of us understand Easter Sunday to be here in Church with lots and lots of people. People standing up against the wall, incense is rising like our prayers, holy water is flying through the air to bless each of you, and we all sing “Alleluia.” That is Easter to me. Greeting familiar faces, welcoming new ones, Spring flowers decorated throughout the Church, that is Easter to me. In 2020, Easter Sunday is different. We have entered into a different experience. Where due to this pandemic of COVID-19, we are asked to stay home for our health, safety and protection. We experience the celebration of mass virtually through our computers and Smart TVs, and have Spiritual Communion with the longing of receiving Christ’s Body and Blood one more time. However, our mission is the same. We are called to be Easter people, people of joy because Christ has died for us and rose to new life. Christ destroyed sin and death out of love for His Children. We are called to be one with Him. We do that by going back to basics: God and family. Let us make an effort to spend time with God, each day offering our joys and sufferings, offering our lives, and trusting in Him. Let us take the time to be grateful for our family and friends, those People who have touched our hearts. Take the time to enjoy today, for we do not know what tomorrow brings. With that, we are People of the Resurrection. My prayer for you this day is that you and your loved ones, may grow closer to our Risen Lord and experience the joy He has for you. May the Lord bless you and keep you close to His Sacred Heart, I am Sincerely, yours in Christ, Fr. Brian

Mis queridos hermanos y hermanas, Hoy es Domingo de Pascua. Sin embargo, muchos de nosotros entendemos que el Domingo de Pascua está aquí en la Iglesia con mucha, mucha gente. Gente de pie contra la pared, el incienso se eleva como nuestras oraciones, el agua bendita vuela por el aire para bendecir a cada uno de ustedes, y todos cantamos "Aleluya". Eso para mí es Pascua. Saludos a caras conocidas, dando la bienvenida a nuevas, flores de primavera decoradas por toda la Iglesia, eso para mí es Pascua. En 2020, el Do-mingo de Pascua es diferente. Hemos entrado en una experiencia diferente. Donde debido a esta pandemia de COVID-19, se nos pide que nos quedemos en casa por nuestra salud, seguridad y protección. Experimentamos la celebración de la misa virtualmente a través de nuestras computadoras y televisores inteligentes, y tene-mos comunión espiritual con el anhelo de recibir el cuerpo y la sangre de Cristo una vez más. Sin embargo, nuestra misión es la misma. Estamos llamados a ser personas de Pas-cua, personas de alegría porque Cristo murió por nosotros y resucitó a una nueva vida. Cristo destruyó el pecado y la muerte por amor a sus hijos. Estamos llamados a ser uno con Él. Hacemos eso volviendo a lo básico: Dios y la familia. Hagamos un esfuerzo para pasar tiempo con Dios, cada día ofreciendo nuestras alegrías y su-frimientos, ofreciendo nuestras vidas y confiando en Él. Tomemos el tiempo para estar agradecidos por nuestra familia y amigos, aquellas personas que han tocado nuestros corazones. Tómese el tiempo para disfrutar hoy, porque no sabemos lo que traerá el mañana. Con eso, somos personas de la resurrección. Mi oración por ustedes este día es que tú y tus seres queridos puedan acercarse a nuestro Señor resucitado y experimentar la alegría que Él tiene por ustedes. Prayer n the Time of the Coronavirus Most Reverend José H. Gomez Archbishop of Los Angeles

Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of the Angels and Mother of

the Americas. We fly to you today as your beloved children We ask you to

intercede for us with your Son, As you did t the wedding in Cana.

Pray for us, loving Mother,

And gain for our nation and world and for all our families and loved ones,

the protection of your holy angels, that we may be spared the worst

of this illness. For those already afflicted, We ask you to obtain the grace of

healing and deliverance.. Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fearful,

Wipe away their tears and help them to trust.

In this time of trial and testing

Teach all of us in the Church to love one another and to be patient and kind. Help us

bring the peace of Jesus to our land and to out hearts

We come to you with confidence,

Knowing that you truly are our compassionate mother, health of the sick

God of everlasting goodness, you sent your Son among us

to bring healing, peace, and reconciliation to our weary world.

Be with all health care workers and their assistants

in this time of the Coronavirus pandemic.

As they continue Jesus’ ministry of care, renew them in mind, body, and spirit.

Keep them safe from infection and illness, and may Christ’s healing presence flow

through them as they serve those entrusted to their care.

We ask this in his name,

Christ the healer, who is Lord forever and ever.

O Mary, you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the cross took part in Jesus’ pain, keeping your faith firm.

You, Salvation of Your People, know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may return to joy and to feasting after this time of trial.

Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us, through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection. Amen.
