FIRST COMMUNION
We are getting closer to that beautiful time of the year when
the children receive Jesus for the first time. Please see below
for the First Communion schedule for the children registered:
St Jude-Saturday 1 June at 10:00am
St Catherine of Siena-Saturday 1 June at 10:00am
St Patrick-Saturday 1 June at 2:00pm
Rehearsal will take place during the school day for the
children in our six Parish schools.
As we get closer to your child’s special day, we have had
questions about the attire. Please see the below reminder for
the First Communion attire:
Boys
-in their Sunday best with white dress shirt and dress pants
-preferably in a suit but not necessary
-First Communion armbands are allowed
Girls
-in a white or off-white dress
-no gloves, no purse and no veil covering the face
For both boys and girls: no running shoes, no prayer books
and no rosary beads during the time of Mass
There will be no morning mass on Saturday 1
June due to the First Holy Communion sacrament
celebrations.
BUNDLE SUNDAY
We will have a collection for used
clothing, shoes and linens on the weekend
of June 8 and 9. NO FURNITURE,
HOUSEHOLD ITEMS, ELECTRONICS
OR TOYS PLEASE.
These collections assist St. Vincent de Paul in its mission of
helping the needy and we very much appreciate your past and
continued assistance in this endeavor. The St. Vincent de Paul
truck will be in the parking lot and will open Saturday afternoon
from 4:00PM until 6:30PM and Sunday until 1:30PM.
HOLY LAND PILGRIMAGE
Join Fr. Joseph Singh and Cale Clarke on a pilgrimage to the
Holy Land from 22 November to 2 December 2019. For those
who are interested, they may pick up a pilgrimage information
form from the parish office. There will be an information session
on Tuesday 4 June at 7:30pm in the foyer of the church.
EMAIL SCAM ALERT
An email scam targeting parishioners in Catholic churches
across Canada is now active in the Archdiocese of Toronto. The
scam, previously reported by several other dioceses, has now
appeared in our own diocese with reports of at least one
parishioner who lost $300 to a fraudster pretending to be the
pastor of a parish. Several other dioceses had reported an email
scam in which Catholics have received requests, purportedly
from their parish priests, for iTunes gift cards. A false email
from a priest is sent asking for the electronic gift cards to be sent
to another address so that they may be given to someone in need.
Please exercise caution when checking email messages. Think
before you click or open attachments, and always verify suspect
messages by phoning the sender on a known phone number (not
the phone number in the suspect message).

for those who love and minister to them.
